Act 1 Effects

Ninja

（にんじゃ）

Become a ninja.

Appearance:

Passive Effect:

Action: Shimitsuki lifts a translucent screen and becomes invisible.

Location: Found in Japanese Castle, behind a secret passageway.

Practical Uses: Can be used to avoid most chasers.

Screen

（がめん）

Be displayed on a screen.

Appearance: A slightly translucent, light blue screen with Shimitsuki on it.

Passive Effect:

Action: Randomly changes the image on the screen, between a yellow eye, a rabbit, and a blank screen. While in a room with a hostile chaser, it becomes an exclamation point. In a room with a passive chaser, it becomes a smile.

Location: Found in Flashing Waveform Maze.

Practical Uses: Can be used to see if a chaser is in the area.

Standing Lamp

（スタンド）

Turn your head into a standing lamp.

Appearance: Shimitsuki's head turns into a gray lamp

Passive Effect: Lights up certain dark areas.

Action: Toggle the lamp between on and off.

Location: Found in Bizarre Fish World.

Practical Uses: Needed to explore the Strange Library.

Squirrel

（りす）

Get a squirrel's ears and tails attached to you.

Appearance: Shimitsuki has grey squirrel ears and a tail.

Passive Effect:

Action: Become a tiny squirrel.

Location: Found in Magenta Roads.

Practical Uses: Allows Shimitsuki into small openings.

Shadow

（かげ）

Let a shadow engulf you.

Appearance: The shadow beneath Shimitsuki becomes dark grey.

Passive Effect:

Action: A shadow engulfs Shimitsuki, sending her back to the Nexus.

Location: Found in Nocturnal Rivers.

Practical Uses: Allows Shimitsuki to quickly return to the Nexus.

Naginata

（なぎなた）

Carry a naginata.

Appearance: Shimitsuki holds a naginata.

Passive Effect:

Action: Interacting with an NPC will cause Shimitsuki to attack them, and pressing Shift will cause her to pose with it.

Location: Found in an isolated area of Circuit World, accessible from Program World.

Practical Uses: Using the effect on NPCs can grant money.

Perfume

Turn your head into a perfume bottle.

Appearance: Shimitsuki's head turns into a perfume bottle.

Passive Effect:

Action: Briefly tint the screen pink.

Location: Found in Ice Temple, after following the paths opened by the blue orbs.

Practical Uses: Using the effect can make some NPCs move around.

Ink Wash

（すみぬき）

Become ink-washed.

Appearance: Shimitsuki becomes grayscale.

Passive Effect: None.

Action: None.

Location: Found in a subarea of Steel Wilds.

Practical Uses: None.

Gears

（はぐるま）

Turn your arms into gears.

Appearance: Shimitsuki's arms are turned into gears, and leans forwards.

Passive Effect: Doubled movement speed.

Action: Shimitsuki's head lifts into the air, and her body flips around.

Location: Found in Fenced Meadow.

Practical Uses: Can be used to easily escape chasers.

Noise

（ノイズ）

Let your body become noise.

Appearance: Skin becomes black, eyes become red, walking around causes static.

Passive Effect:

Action: Fills the screen with static.

Location: Found in Monochrome Islands.

Practical Uses: Using the effect can make some NPCs move around.

UFO

Ride a UFO.

Appearance: Shimitsuki rides a UFO.

Passive Effect:

Action: The UFO flashes a few colors.

Location: Found in Space Coaster World.

Practical Uses:

Junk

（ジャンク）

Become junk.

Appearance: Shimitsuki turns into a pile of junk.

Passive Effect: Halved movement speed.

Action: None.

Location: Found in Prison Chambers, after interacting with the right wall in the large cell. Doesn't show a notification upon obtaining it.

Practical Uses:

Ice

（こおり）

Become icy.

Appearance:

Passive Effect: It begins snowing.

Action: Start or stop the snow.

Location: Found in the depths of the Ice Temple, after activating an event. Doesn't show a notification upon obtaining it.

Practical Uses:

Kikyou

（ききょう）

Wear a kikyou (bellflower) on your head.

Appearance: Shimitsuki wears a purple kimono and bellflower.

Passive Effect:

Action: None.

Location: Inside the Isolated House, after interacting with the kikyou in the vase.

Practical Uses:

Matching

（おそろい）

（げんしょく）

Become primary colors.

Appearance: Shimitsuki's sprite bears the six primary colors. Her skin turns yellow, her hair magenta, her shirt cyan with red stains, her shorts blue and her shoes green.

Passive Effect:

Action: Give everything a colored tint.

Location: Found in one of the buildings in Monochrome City.
