It is an enclosed world characterised by confusing hallways and long numbers that range from 0 to 236,800,954,213,315,784 stretching across the floor. It is one of the more unsettling original locations, partially due to some of the areas that are accessed from it, its implied vastness due to its scrolling background being an image of itself, bizarre visuals, and due to its imposing background music.
Number World (電燈, Light) is one of the twelve original locations accessible directly from the Nexus.

The parallax background appears to be a picture of the Number World map itself, making the hallways even more confusing to navigate. The walls are repeating pictures of faces that look like zippers with legs and arms. They seem to be biological, as they can be seen bleeding in a couple of places and have expressions that change from time to time.
Features
Number World resembles an indoor area characterized by confusing hallways and long numbers stretching across the floor, ranging from 0 to 236,800,954,213,315,784. It is one of the more unsettling original locations, partially due to some of the areas that are accessed from it, the multiple faces that decorate the walls, and its implied vastness due to its scrolling background being an image of the world's map itself. The music in this world is made up of low-pitched bell noises.

There is a "river" at the bottom of the area, where a character named Steve 'Leif' Kareha roams. Strangely, walking in the water (using noclip) still makes a unique sound.
Main Room
The main room is fairly large, with multiple notable points of interest. At the bottom of the main area is a river, where a character named Steve 'Leif' Kareha roams. North of the world's entrance are several Wheelies, one of which blocks the Stabbing Room. In the southeastern section of the main room is a door to Lamp World and a special Zippertile that may occasionally look unhappy. Stabbing this Zippertile with the Knife effect will lead to the Number World Stairway. West of the main area is a door to the world's Bed Room.

There are no effects in the main part of the Number World itself, but there are effects in some of the deeper locations accessible from here.
The Bed Room
The Bed Room, as its name states, is full of beds. Some of them are occupied while others are not, though only one of the beds is accessible, which is in the center of the fifth row. This bed has a 1/5 chance of sending Madotsuki to the Staircase of Hands once slept in. In the southeastern corner is a Zippertile vomiting blood, which can be interacted with to go to Guillotine World.

Points of Interest
Walking near the beds is a single Toriningen. Stabbing this Toriningen with the Knife effect and then heading for the third closet from the left in the row found above the beds will lead to Mini Hell. Getting caught by this Toriningen instead will send you to one of two variants of the ああああああああ, one of which takes you to an isolated section of Lamp World.
*Steve 'Leif' Kareha can be seen here, slowly moving across the canal at the bottom. He can be drawn faster by the Cat effect. There are also four types of strange creatures here, referred to by fans as Wheelies. They change appearance under the stoplight and cat.
*The Toriningen in the Bed Room (see below) may teleport Madotsuki into the enclosed room in the north-west of the Number World, with the Japanese Hiragana letter 'あ' (A) on the floor. Walking over it causes the whole floor of the Number World to be flooded with あs. This is sometimes interpreted as a literation of the sound Uboa makes, or Madotsuki herself screaming, evidence of possible claustrophobia. The same Toriningen may also transport her to a similar room in Lamp World where the same thing happens with a patterned floor tile.

The Stabbing Room
The Bed Room is found behind the door on the far left of the Number World. There are 71 beds and a sane Toriningen here.
The Stabbing Room is found in the north section of the main Number World room. A single Wheelie blocks the door to this room and must be moved using either the Cat or Knife effects. Upon entering, the player will find it packed with identical cycloptic Wheelies. The Knife effect can be used to clear them out of the way, which will automatically make them shuffle around faster when the effect is simply equipped.
*Most of the beds are occupied, but one bed (the center bed on the 5th row) can be used. It is one of the beds that may teleport Madotsuki to the Staircase of Hands.
*By stabbing the Toriningen and opening the third closet from the left, Madotsuki is transported to Mini Hell.
*The Guillotine World can be reached by entering the bleeding section of the wall, where the Severed Head effect is received.
*It is not possible to tell who or what is actually sleeping in the occupied beds, but it would be reasonable to assume they are Toriningen, as evidenced by their presence in the vicinity - as well as in the adjacent Guillotine World and Hell.

The Stabbing Room
*The Stabbing Room is found behind the door somewhere at the top of the Number World that is blocked by a Wheelie. Stabbing the Wheelie with the Knife effect, or moving it with the Cat effect allows Madotsuki to enter the room.
Upon clearing the lower part of the room, a blue landscape model resembling a mask can be found, which makes a unique noise when stepped on. other than this, there is no reward for clearing the room other than a bit of yen.
*The room itself is packed with a different kind of identical Wheelies that feature one red eye, so to move around the room, Madotsuki can clear a path by killing them or wait for them to move one by one.
*Like most other NPCs, they do not retaliate. Nothing happens if you stab them all, but it is an efficient way of collecting coins.
*It is apparent that they also move quicker when the knife is equipped.
*There is a blue landscape model in the lower part of the room.
*Using the Traffic Light will cause the all Wheelies to change color, as well as stop moving.

The Stairway
The entrance to the stairway is not always available and appears at random chance every dream session. The entrance can be found through an unhappy-looking Zippertile in the southeastern corner of the main room, who will make a unique noise when interacted with. When this Zippertile is in this state, stabbing it with the Knife effect will make it scream before vomiting out blood, forming a doorway in the wall.

The entrance to the Stairway (in the furthest right part of the Number World) is not always available. There is a random chance determined when Madotsuki falls asleep that the Zippertile will change to allow her through. When the face has an open mouth, it can be stabbed with the Knife effect to allow entry. KyuuKyuu-kun is found here aside the stairway, rubbing the banister. The background of this area appears to be made up of a modified version of the entities found in the Nexus background. The door at the top of the stairway is the same as Madotsuki's bedroom door. When she walks through it, the FACE event occurs, which leads to Madotsuki being forced to awaken. The significance of this event is subject to much speculation.
The area beyond the Zippertile is a strange empty with what appears to be nothing but a stairway. A background resembling Mesoamerican artwork appears in the background. As Madotsuki progresses through the stairway, she will encounter KyuuKyuu-kun, who is happily rubbing the stairway railing. Beyond KyuuKyuu-kun is a door identical to the one in Madotsuki's Room, which will prompt the FACE event when opened.

Number World (電燈, Light) is one of the twelve original locations accessible directly from the Nexus.

The Bed Room

The Bed Room.

The Stabbing Room

The Stabbing Room is found in the north section of the main Number World room. A single Wheelie blocks the door to this room and must be moved using either the Cat or Knife effects. Upon entering, the player will find it packed with identical cycloptic Wheelies. The Knife effect can be used to clear them out of the way, which will automatically make them shuffle around faster when the effect is simply equipped.

The landscape model/mask-like object in the empty stabbing room.

Upon clearing the lower part of the room, a blue landscape model resembling a mask can be found, which makes a unique noise when stepped on. other than this, there is no reward for clearing the room other than a bit of yen.

The Stairway

File:Wallthatleadstokyukyukyun.jpg
The tile that must be stabbed to gain access to the Stairway.

The Nexus → Number World

Trivia

  • The Nexus door that leads to Number World originally lead to an early incarnation of the Lamp World in old versions, complete with music that isn't present in newer versions. Number World was eventually fully implemented in version 0.08, relegating a redesigned iteration of the Lamp World to a subarea within it.
  • Ones of the rooms that Madotsuki is trapped in during the ああああああああ event has faces. Some fans have interpreted these faces to resemble Monoe and Monoko, or possibly the two Sewer Drawings found in the Sewers' Docks path.
  • The main Number World room (the one entered from The Nexus) is a looping area, though this can never be experienced due to the room being enclosed. However, the Noclip Glitch allows for the player to loop around the area.
    • This is not the case for The Bed Room or The Stabbing Room.
