Trying to reinstall is always a good idea, but I'm afraid we need to see that error message and figure out what's going on with your system, otherwise you might run into various other issues, even if you get past the intro.
What exactly prevents you from taking a screenshot? (I'm aware that Windows 8 sucks, but I can't believe it sucks that much...)
