Main Page suggestion
Hi Nex, I saw you recently removed the line from the Main Page about fan theories. Thanks for that! I noticed it earlier and was going to suggest a change, but I got distracted with some of the other aspects of the page, namely the abysmal CSS I had shared with you months prior. I have a new draft for the page with the following changes:
- Remove the hacky width CSS in favour of a normal flexbox - this removes the gap between the side-by-side headers, though, which I personally like more, but you're free to disagree
- Change instances of {{PortalHeading}} back to CSS elements, to avoid potential vandalism of the main page
- Update usage of deprecated HTML to modern solutions
- Tweaked the intro text a bit to remove redundancy
- Added no-break spaces to the game titles
- Changed the world maps link to the relatively new gallery category instead of a search page
- Fixed inconsistent use of italics
I hope I'm not being a bother with this. My intention really is to fix my own mistakes, since it was my old suggested draft that put the weird CSS and template usage on the Main Page. --ZASNK (talk) 20:35, 13 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hello Zasnk! I took a look at your draft and I like what I'm seeing. Thank you! Might just be me but I think it loads a lot faster too (I've been noticing YumeWiki in general has been loading a lot slower for me lately) I guess my only nitpick is that I would rather have the headers colored light gray instead of pure white but if that's not possible, I can get used to it. I also have some suggestions to add too if you don't mind.
- If we ever get OneShot, Penguin Island or Don's Adventure wikis, we could put them in Related Wikis. I was thinking we could put Cerasus and Yume Tagai in that header too. Feel free to disagree on this one haha.
- In order to make YumeWiki's discord server more visible, we could embed it on the main page just like the 2kki wiki does with their server. Maybe we could also do this for Collective Unconscious, Uneven Dream, and YNOproject with their respective namespaces.

- For the header colors, they only show up white on my user page because the CSS is specific to the main namespace. If you preview if in the main page, it should show up like normal.
- If we ever end up hosting wikis for non-YNFG like OneShot, I do think they should be put under the related wikis. As for Cerasus and Tagai, they are still YNFG, and I don't like the idea of separating them simply because they aren't on YNOproject.
- Regarding the Discord embed: I do like the idea of having more visible info on the main page, but I'm not sure where you could fit it, besides tacking it on to the end of the page. We don't have a sidebar like 2kki's main page.
- I honestly think the main page needs a whole redesign, because it's awkwardly set up right now. Like I don't know how I feel about the whole YNFG Wiki being paired with the tiny YNO wiki in the same section lol. But this would be a big project and we have a lot on the table already.
- Sorry if I went on a tangent there. TLDR: headers should still be fine; I don't like having Cerasus and Tagai in Related Wikis; we could place the Discord widget at the end of the page.
