It's in the raw materials pack (in the ゆめ2っきラフ folder inside 0-イメージラフ+企画書), so most likely because of convenience. Here are the other pics of it from that folder:

Both the masked painter and the blue giraffe were conceived by the same person, 909 from the first production thread. Well, I guess if there's a confirmed connection, then I guess I'll make a note of it in the trivia.
Anyone else think there might be a connection between this world and the Art Gallery because of this? Not like an in-game connection where you can go straight from one to the other, but just something deeper that they both relate to. I dunno, it's hard to think of anything specifically. Well, since 909's sketches pretty much established many of the game's most emotional moments, I guess it's only natural that the ultimate ending of sorts (or an event similar to that in nature, like my suggestion for the Depths) should revolve around them as well.
