Template:Cquote2 The Knoll is one of the two areas set in the real world, the other being the Shrine.
Features
The Knoll is the first area the player visits. After the opening sequence of Answered Prayers, during which gray text accuses Fluorette of running away, our protagonist appears to be standing on a dirt road in the middle of the woods. It is not possible to take the southern path, which leaves the player no choice but to north in the direction of a shrine, built on a grassy hill.
This area consists of a light softwood forest, and the path develops into a narrow bridge going over water, which suggest the shrine itself may be built on an island. Once Fluorette goes up the gray stairs and enters the shrine, she will be unable to leave the room and go back outside.
Trivia
- The existence of the Knoll is unique for a Yume Nikki fangame, since the protagonists are usually spend all their time in the real world in an enclosed location (ex. Madotsuki's bedroom in Yume Nikki). It is rare that the player is shown how the protagonist arrived at said location.
