[[Category:Kontentsu]] Opal Ruins is an area accessible from one of the obelisks in Sugar Road.
Features
The Opal Ruins is a labyrinthine area consisting of purple cubes and geometrical structures surrounded by a vast, dark sea with multicolored waves. The vertical paths in this area allow diagonal movement.
A pink and purple smiling creature that looks like a gummy bear can be found at certain point, which serves as a one-way connection to the Opal Sea.
There's also a flashing NPC in one of the paths, swimming in the sea. Equipping the Rainbow effect will make the NPC flash even faster, while the Marginal effect does the opposite. Equipping the Chainsaw effect near him will make its face black and white. Aditionally, the same phone found in Aquatic Cube City and one of the portals from Mushroom World can be found in the area, but out of reach.
An isolated section can be entered from the Gulliver Desert, which only contains a vending machine and a doorway blocked by a construction sign.
Opal Sea
The Opal Sea (ミサロジーB, Misarojī B, Misology B) is an area reminiscent to The Pink Sea, from Yume Nikki. It's inhabited by a variety of flashing NPCs, similar to the ones in Neon City. Many copies of the pink and purple creature that served as an entrance can be found across the area, serving as connections to different islands.
An island with a construction sign can be found by going north and slightly east from the entrance. At the right of the island, one of the teleporting creatures can be found, which leads to a small, spiral island with a flashing plant in the center. Interacting with this plant makes another teleporting creature appear in the world, at the center of a heart-shaped structure made by small purple cubes, which can be found northeast from the teleporter just used. Interacting with this special creature will lead to an island with a conical house similar to Poniko's home. If you haven't interacted with the switch in the house in Lovesick World, the doorway will trigger a static noise with the screen flashing black. Otherwise, it leads to a vertical pathway with scary-looking figures on the sides, ending in a portal similar to those found in Sugar Road. Interacting with this portal takes you to Blue Lavender Shoal (恋荒び), which starts off in a uterine island, where the rest of the passage is currently blocked off by a construction sign.
Directions
- Nexus → Red Streetlight World → Bleeding Heads Garden → Alien Valley → Butterfly Passage → Whipped Cream World → Overgrown Condominium → Sugar Road → Opal Ruins
If the connection from Urotsuki's Dream Apartments to Sugar Road is active:
- Nexus → Urotsuki's Dream Apartments → Sugar Road → Opal Ruins
Trivia
- Before version 0.112f, interacting with the conical house in the Opal Sea while having the Stretch effect equipped would have a 1/80 chance of leading to dark, looping and inescapable passage with black mountains and red creatures in the background. While being here, static sounds and deep, cat meowings would play every 13 seconds.
- This passage was an homage to the Uboa event.
