So I found an ACPI mod for Windows Vista through Windows 8.0. I tried it with 8.0 on my UEFI only Tiger Lake laptop and it got passed the NON_ACPI_COMPLIANT bios error that prevented the PE from loading (I couldn't go far as it didn't detect the M.2 SSD), however, when I do the same mod for Windows 7, it freezes at the Windows logo and then restarts. I should note the PE uses Windows 8.1's so I can get through the first half, but when it restarts is where I have the issues (it also has generic drivers such as M.2 and USB3 integrated). I do have to disable driver signature enforcement to load it without error. If I do not, it complains about ACPI being unsigned and when I hit enter, I get c0000017 An Unexpected Error Has Occurred, where the only option is to press Esc for UEFI settings. I also have UEFI7 loaded in, so maybe the error now is actually that? I also used a vanilla Windows 7 ISO with nothing integrated and it did the same thing despite ACPI having been modded in that one as well. So close, yet so far away! | |||
