The Nexus is the central hub of Soutarou's dream world, to which the rest of the dream world is accessed from.

Features

The Nexus is a small non-looping area with a metal grating floor that seems to be suspended by cable-like structures. There are seven doors arranged in a pyramid shape, with the door to Soutarou's Dream Room sitting northmost of the rest of the doors. Moreover:

  • The green door in the bottom-left leads to Plank World.
  • The brown door in the bottom-right leads to Door World.

By using the Pattern effect while exploring the dream world, Soutarou can teleport back to the Nexus without waking up.

Effect Orbs

The Nexus is the only room where Soutarou's effects can be dropped. This is done by equipping them and pressing the interact key, which then removes the effect from your inventory. The effects can be retrieved by interacting with the corresponding orb that is left behind. Each effect appears as a semi-transparent orb that floats around the Nexus and is analogous to the effect it contains; for example, the Centipede orb moves twice as fast as the others, the Distortion orb changes colours in a static-like manner, and the Clot orb is black with a white shine effect.

When all the effects are dropped in the Nexus, the player can view some of the game's endings.
