Nocturnal Rivers is an area accessible through the magenta door in the Nexus and is one of the five original doors there.

Features

The world's walkable terrain is solid black, while the "water" tiles are transparent, allowing the dark blue, starry parallax to show through. These rivers divide the map into many peninsulas, often where there is only one or two narrow isthmuses, making navigation somewhat tricky.

Upon entering from the Nexus, Shimitsuki can either head west or north. Going north will take you to a large yellow pencil laying on top of a multicolored scribble. Touching it takes you to Paint World.

Taking the western path, or continuing northwest beyond the pencil will allow Shimitsuki to travel deeper into the heart of Nocturnal Rivers, where a purple humanoid with an eyeball for a head resides in an eye-shaped formation. Interacting with this NPC for the first time will grant the Shadow effect, allowing a swift return to the Nexus. On a peninsula directly south of the Eyeball Figure's location is a primate scratching its head; interacting with it takes you to Mechanical Animal World.

The only other residents are yellow, armless creatures that wander about. Using the Perfume effect will draw them closer to Shimitsuki; while the Noise effect will make them move away.
