The Dwarf is an effect NPC that can be found in Candle World. He grants Madotsuki the Midget effect.

Overview

The Dwarf has the appearance of a colorful gnome carrying a sword. He can be heard constantly running to the east at the same speed that Madotsuki moves with the Bicycle effect, so he is tricky to catch without either the Bicycle or Stoplight effects. If the player blocks his path, he will simply stand still, making this the easiest way to catch him. The Cat effect will also pull him closer.

Every 11 tiles east, the Dwarf alternates between moving 1 tile north or 1 tile south, slightly shifting his path. While running, he passes a purple pyramid that leads to the Checkered Tile Path. He makes a sound every two steps he takes, which can be heard from all around Candle World, and is a higher pitch while he is higher up north. Blocking him physically, using the Cat effect, or stopping him with the Stoplight effect will stop the sound. Killing the Dwarf with the Knife effect is also effective.
