In the first part of Carnival World, accessed from the Nexus, multiple oversized picture frames and Polaroid photos are scattered on the ground. When stepped on, the graphics on them may change, mostly showing that the player has crushed whatever is contained in them. On the right side of the area is a moving pile of flesh which, when interacted with, sends the player to the Gas Station. To the left is a glowing doorway atop one of the walls, embedded into a large pillar with multiple face patterns. The doorway can be accessed with the Crow effect, which takes the player to an enclosed part of the world's second portion decorated with flowers and a large spinning pig with butcher marks drawn on it. Inside is a red carpet leading to an open-mouthed head, taking the player to Meat World when entered. Continuing forward instead past the toll booths is a doorway leading to the carnival's second portion. Using the Magnify effect near the Polaroid close to this doorway reveals a picture of a person wearing glasses and a hoodie.

The second part of Carnival World mostly houses attractions. Dancing figures resembling teddy bears and carnival visitors with screen heads depicting eyes populate the area. A stage and zoo exhibit can also be found, with the latter housing a large creature resembling a humanoid with a crying pig head. If the Doll effect is used to kill the stage dancers and then the Magnify effect is used, a design resembling several sad bears will appear on the stage. A view of the aforementioned red carpet area can also be found at the end of the room. Straight from the entrance is a glowing pink puddle, which takes the player to the trench in Underwater World when interacted with.

===Meat World===
===Meat World===
'''Meat World''' is a deeper location accessed from Carnival World.
Meat World is a dreary, fleshy landscape filled with large fish skeletons and pools of blood. Two chasers roam the area, which emit a piercing noise when near. Getting caught by either of them sends the player to the zoo exhibit in Carnival World. The player can use the Train effect to outrun them or the Crow effect to hop atop one of the ramadas to get out of their reach.
From Carnival World, the player will exit from one of the large heads found in the previous world. Nearby, Anatsuki sits with a fisherman at a small campfire. To the east of the head is a small shuttle, which can be entered to go to Space World. To the left of the head, farther than the shuttle warp, is a short dock near a large body of water. A pair of windows at the end of the dock will take the player to the Docks.
When using the Doll effect on the red creatures that populate the area, there is a chance that they may turn blue upon death, changing their face to a grin. When this occurs, the Blue Monster Room event is activated, which will send the player to an isolated room in the Flooded Apartment with several more of the same blue creature. Using the Magnify effect here will reveal more figures, surrounding the player.

===Museum===
The '''Museum''' is a deeper location accessed from Graveyard World.
The Museum is a dark area that, as the name states, resembles a museum. Various objects, creatures, and art pieces are on display. As the area is dark, it is recommended to bring the Candle effect in order to fully navigate the area.
From Graveyard World, the area starts in a dark hallway leading up to a reception desk with a small creature standing atop it. Down the hall and after a left turn, the museum will split into different sections. The first split, on the right side of the hall, leads into a room filled with several different creatures including a two-headed snake, one of the rabbits from Graveyard World, and two cocoons. At the back of this room are several floating masks that always face the player, leading to the Docks. The second split of the hall, on the left side, leads to a spacious room with a birdhouse at the center, taking the player to Red Grass World when interacted with. The same room also contains several portraits of people with blacked-out faces, with one of them laughing and growing a smile when interacted with. Beyond this room is the Museum's second hall.
The Museum's second hall contains two splits from the path, the first being a straight hallway towards a door leading to Floating Houses World. The second split leads to a largely empty room with a large chalk-drawn face on the floor, constantly gnashing its teeth.

===Floating Houses World===
===Floating Houses World===
'''Floating Houses World''' is a deeper location accessed from the Museum.
Floating Houses World is a small island surrounded by water and lamps. As the name states, several houses float above the island, one of which the player will exit from when entering the world from the Museum. A rope hanging down from the floating house can be climbed down to get to the island. On the island itself, large glowing coral-like structures grow from the ground. Tall creatures with triangular heads, statues resembling lanky figures, and small horned monsters can also be found around the island.
Down on the island, just behind the rope dangling from one of the floating houses, a set of three tubes can be found on the ground, which will take the player to the Subway World rooftop when interacted with. Ahead of the rope is a torii gate with several lanterns around it, acting as a warp to Tatami World. Nearby is a hill with a wolf atop it who, when interacted with, will let out a howl as their two red eyes transform into one large bleeding eye that takes up its entire face.
In one corner of the island is a fallen house, facing the surrounding water. Inside will be the Headless Boy, sitting in the doorway. Interacting with them will grant the player the Headless effect.

===Pill World===
===Pill World===
'''Pill World''' is a deeper location accessed from Mural World.
Pill World is a set of floating islands within a white void, sporting a scrolling background resembling a pill. Also in the background is a large white planet and the sky creature from the White Desert. Populating the islands are tall kelp-like plants and several floating heads. Gravity is reduced in the area, allowing the player to make tall leaps from island to island, with their jump height greatly increased if the Crow effect is equipped, although the effect is not required to reach the end of the world. If the player falls into the void, they are taken back to the island they entered the world from.
Several small sights can be found around the floating islands, such as a warhead stuck in the ground and several odd NPCs roaming around. Eventually, a spaceship resembling a blue and yellow pill will come into view with several cloaked figures surrounding it. One of the floating head NPCs will proclaim that their king, King Moses, has fallen ill from drinking the liquid spilling out of a giant pill that has been lodged into one of the larger islands.
On the island with the giant pill, King Moses and his son can be found sitting around a lake of green liquid spilling from said pill. The liquid has caused both the island's flora and the two royals to grow green, with the island's kelp sagging downward. King Moses's son also shouts in pain, particularly about his intestines. Interacting with the green body of liquid acts as a one-way connection to the Sewers.

Grocery Store

The Grocery Store is one of the worlds accessed from the Nexus, entered from the Nexus's first door.

As the name implies, the Grocery Store resembles a small grocery store, made up of multiple aisles in which various shoppers can be found. Near the entrance is the checkout, which has multiple crying cashiers. To the left are two booths, one of which houses the Gray Face, who will growl at the player when interacted with. The other booth will offer the player a balloon, which they can carry around the store.

In the aisles, on the left half of the store, a realistic teddy bear can be found, which will teleport the player to the Gas Station when interacted with. On the right half of the store is an open freezer with a set of stairs leading down to the Snowy Basement. At the back of the store is a booth filled with meat and a set of doors leading to a backroom. Within the backroom is a child crouched in the corner followed by several chunks of meat carved into heart shapes. A blue doorway in the backroom also leads to the Snack Gallery.

Carnival World is one of the worlds accessed from the Nexus, entered from the Nexus's second door.

Carnival World is an enclosed world resembling a carnival. A blue eye pattern decorates the ground and large red walls resembling intestines surround the area, some of which have designs resembling eyes or faces. Peaking from behind the walls are various large heads.

If the Doll effect is used to kill the stage dancers, the spotlight lighting the stage will power down. Using the Magnify effect afterward will reveal a scrawled design resembling several sad bears on the stage. A view of the aforementioned red carpet area can also be found at the end of the room. Straight from the entrance is a glowing pink puddle, which takes the player to the trench in Underwater World when interacted with.

Trivia

  • Carnival World is inspired by Yume 2kki's Underwater Amusement Park, also using the same music that plays in the park's main area.
  • The large heads found throughout the area resemble the Wheelies from Yume Nikki.
  • One of the picture frame drawings in the first portion resembles the Bird's House.
  • Carnival World is the only world accessed from the Nexus (other than the Developer Room) to not house an effect or pseudo-effect.
  • When the Painting effect is used in this area, a unique face appears. It depicts a smiling face with strabismic eyes.

Mural World

Mural World is one of the worlds accessed from the Nexus, entered from the Nexus's third door.

Mural World is a small landscape that appears to take place high in the sky. Large murals depicting various pieces of art decorate the world alongside large, curved sprouts and block structures. Heading to the right upon entering the Nexus and then jumping atop the nearby block structures will lead the player to three black sheep, one of which is the Human Sheep who will grant the Painting effect upon being interacted with. Traveling forward beyond the sheep will lead to a large red plant that takes the player to Hell upon interaction.

Traveling to the left of the Hell warp will lead to four large tube structures with a spinning set of shapes nearby. Interacting with the shapes will lead to Cardboard World. Traveling north of the Hell warp instead leads to a well near a serpentine mural, which will take the player to Pill World.

White Desert

The White Desert is one of the worlds accessed from the Nexus, entered from the Nexus's fourth door.

The White Desert is a boxed-in desert landscape that is entirely monochrome. White cacti grow around the sandy landscape, which has a large horned creature staring down upon the land. Several large shapes also make up various structures around the desert.

To the right of the Nexus door is an umbrella and suitcase, lying within the shadow of a large cube structure. Interacting with these items will take the player to Parking Garage World. Also near the Nexus door is a campfire with two horned NPCs wandering around it. Close to the campfire is a set of four houses with varying contents. The first house has an oversized dice inside, which grants the Dice effect. The second house houses a blob NPC and a cowboy painting, which occasionally changes to a scowling expression. While the third house is closed, the fourth house contains a hole that acts as a one-way connection to Stone World.

On the right side of the area, near a cross structure with a demon-like NPC sitting nearby, is a large head with empty eyes. Entering one of its eyes leads the player down to White Desert B.

Directions

  • The Nexus → White Desert

Trivia

  • The area is heavily inspired by and shares the same name as Yume Nikki's White Desert.

City World

City World is one of the worlds accessed from the Nexus, entered from the Nexus's fifth door.

City World resembles a small city set at nighttime, surrounded by tall brick walls. There are various buildings that can be entered, although the town is largely empty as has very few inhabitants.

Going down the flights of stairs and then going through the double doors on either side of the building behind the Nexus door will lead down to the café, where a blue worm-like creature will serve the player a cup of hot chocolate when interacted with. On the right side of the city is a largely empty building and a small alley with a vending machine and a boarded-up doorway that takes the player to Black Goo World. A two-story motorbike shop is also on the right side of the city, with a small ghost running the reception desk.

On the left side of town are more buildings. An arcade and store can be found, and two buildings with locked doors can also be found. One of them can still be accessed through a set of stairs leading to the top floor, which has a balcony and an odd elevated section with White Desert sand. The building farthest from the Nexus door has multiple stories, with the ground floor having an indoor waterfall and glowing symbols depicting the Buddha meditating. Up one story is a room with a balcony and a figure in a diving suit surrounded by crates, which takes the player to White Desert B. Up one more floor is a meditating Buddha statue which will either take the player to Hell or activate the Resting event.

Graveyard World

Graveyard World is one of the worlds accessed from the Nexus, entered from the Nexus's sixth door.

Graveyard World is a large snowy graveyard filled with tombstones and coffins. The world has a blood-red sky and is surrounded by a deep ravine.

Directly to the right of the Nexus entrance is a fleshy creature with a television head, which gives the TV effect upon interaction. Heading straight from where the creature is facing will lead to a small building emitting a red glow, which takes the player to the Museum. Heading straight forward from the Nexus door instead leads to a dead tree surrounded by gravestones, which will take the player to the outskirts of Russia World when interacted with. An NPC resembling a rabbit conjoined with a second, fleshy rabbit can be found near this warp.

Transmission World is one of the worlds accessed from the Nexus, entered from the Nexus's seventh door.

Transmission World resembles a desert with a green sky. Transmission towers, a stone monument, and several rib fossils can be found around the area, with several pyramids visible in the distance. Flocks of birds, deer-like creatures, and griffins also populate the area.

Directly to the left of the Nexus entrance are several payphone booths, one of which sports a red light instead of a blue one, acting as a warp to the Playground. Roughly northwest of the Nexus entrance is a stone monument made up of multiple structures resembling humans. At the center is a beam of light and a floating green message written in runes. Interacting with the radio found at the center of the monument will grant the Radio effect.

East of the monument is a distant building and several more transmission towers. Inside the building, a laundromat, are several washing machines leaking meat and a black substance. One of the machines contains a set of moving tentacles, which act as a warp to Statue World. Next to one of the phone booths in front of the laundromat are two construction barriers, which act as a warp to the Infinite Road.

Located around the area are several lanky monochrome creatures. When killed with the Doll effect, they become red and still. When approached in this state, they will emit a high-pitched humming noise. Using the Doll effect on all five of the creatures found throughout the world will activate the Ritual event, causing the sky to turn red and a low hum to play throughout the area. The creatures can be found:

  • Inside the building closest to the Nexus entrance.
  • Near the stone monument, roughly northwest of the Nexus entrance.
  • Inside the building near three connected transmission towers, roughly west of the second creature.
  • Near the bridge going over the world's northern river.
  • Near the transmission tower closest to the Infinite Road warp.

Trivia

  • When the Painting effect is used in this area, a unique face appears. It depicts a panicked face with its teeth showing.
  • If a player has activated the Ritual event in this world, all other players in the same world will experience it, even if they did not activate it.
  • Oddly, exiting the world via the Nexus door may place the player in front of one of the other Nexus warps instead of the door leading back to Transmission World.

Developer Room

The Developer Room is one of the worlds accessed from the Nexus, entered from a television in the Nexus after experiencing one of the endings.

The Developer Room is a largely featureless beach with a foggy sky and several large stones. At the front of the room is a mattress set near the rolling ocean, with a television placed nearby. The television starts with the text "SPECIAL THANKS:" before slowly flashing various names, including those of people, groups, and pieces of media that inspired DREAM WORLD, alongside names of the developers who worked on the game.

Deeper Locations

White Desert B

White Desert B is a deeper location accessed from the White Desert and City World.

White Desert B, an extension of the White Desert, largely resembles the same monochrome landscape found in the aforementioned world. The area starts in an interior section containing a pool of black liquid, eventually leading to an expansive outdoor portion with several strange structures and creatures.

The interior portion, accessed from the White Desert, starts on a linear trail that passes by a large pool of black liquid. Several amorphous creatures inhabit the water, alongside a black humanoid cyclops with a cube head and a red eye. The surrounding walls are also covered in eyes. Past the pool is a set of stairs leading to a short hall with a hole in the wall, acting as an entrance to the School.

The outside portion, accessed from either the end of the aforementioned hall or the diving gear figure in City World, is an outdoor portion with several large spikes protruding from the ground. Tall geometric structures spilling red liquid are built around the landscape, which is populated by figures with multiple holes in their faces. Before the warp to City World sits the Holy Bird, and in the distance is the Twitching Monster, twitching its hand about.

  • The Nexus → City World → White Desert B

Trivia

  • The area is heavily inspired by and shares the same name as Yume Nikki's White Desert.
  • When the Painting effect is used in this area, two unique faces appear. The first depicts a face with a raised eyebrow and extended lips. The second depicts several dots.

Black Goo World

Black Goo World is a deeper location accessed from City World.

Black Goo World is an interior area infested with large amounts of black sludge. Around the area, figures in hazmat suits can be heard speaking over transmission. The area is also fairly dark, so it is recommended to bring the Candle effect to lighten up the area.

The first hall from City World, blocked with crossing tape that can be easily walked through, is largely linear. A fork in the path reveals a tunnel to the left of the hall, which leads to the Sewers. A monochrome smiley face also stands waiting by the tunnel. The end of the hall, which is also simply right behind the monochrome smiley face, has a glowing computer and a synthesizer, which will send the player to Computer World when interacted with.

  • The Nexus → City World → Black Goo World

Meat World

Meat World is a deeper location accessed from Carnival World.

Trivia

  • When the Painting effect is used in this area, two unique faces appear. The first depicts a toothy mouth with fangs. The second depicts a face with squinted eyes and an X design on its forehead.

Museum

The Museum is a deeper location accessed from Graveyard World.

Directions

  • The Nexus → Graveyard World → Museum

Trivia

  • The Museum is inspired by Yume 2kki's Dark Museum, also using the same music that plays throughout the world.

Snowy Basement

The Snowy Basement is a deeper location accessed from the Grocery Store.

The Snowy Basement is a small basement area filled with snow and a cold breeze. A car covered in snow protrudes through the wall, popping with electricity. To the left is a toolbox and two sleeping bags, one red and one blue. To the right, beyond a dryer and washing machine, is a set of doors that can be entered to get to Geisha World.

Directions

  • The Nexus → Grocery Store → Snowy Basement

Floating Houses World

Floating Houses World is a deeper location accessed from the Museum.

Pill World

Pill World is a deeper location accessed from Mural World.
