Hey, I saw the page was indefinitely protected for the reason of "edit warring". I really disagree with an indefinite page protection. The edit was copying the old caption that was then reverted by the author's request, which seems to me like User:Saphhire was trying to be funny. This was only one edit after 3 months, so I don't think it should be called an "edit war" so quickly. I believe at most Sapphire should receive a warning to not edit pages for jokes, and that the protection should be removed. :Hi, I'm the one that locked the page. I can remove it now, and I agree that User:Saphhire should instead receive a warning for this. My initial reasoning for this decision was my wrongful assumption that this had been happening, albeit slowly, over the course of months. Or, I thought so from how User:WikiOdd worded his request over on the YumeWiki discord. But honestly, if I'm allowed to say it, this whole keeping the caption the same thing is a bit ridiculous. It's a caption. It's plain text. Such a tiny issue in the grand scheme of things. Maybe it shouldn't even have a caption due to how vulnerable it is to vandalism. But then if we don't give it a caption it'll be at more risk. Hm. --Nexrob010 (talk) 20:53, 11 December 2024 (UTC) | |||
::You make a fair point. Initially I thought to document what the author said about the caption because I thought it would be interesting. Now it seems it gives a lot of undue weight to a very minor aspect of the page. Perhaps it would be better to delete the subpage. The caption could be edited as normal instead of trying to enforce the current, or maybe the caption can be changed to a descriptive one instead of a joke. I would certainly be fine with any such decision since this isn't an important detail to the game itself. --ZASNK (talk) 22:58, 11 December 2024 (UTC) |

Page lock
Hey, I saw the page was indefinitely protected for the reason of "edit warring". I really disagree with an indefinite page protection. The edit was copying the old caption that was then reverted by the author's request, which seems to me like User:Saphhire was trying to be funny. This was only one edit after 3 months, so I don't think it should be called an "edit war" so quickly. I believe at most Sapphire should receive a warning to not edit pages for jokes, and that the protection should be removed. --ZASNK (talk) 14:33, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, I'm the one that locked the page. Hm. --Nexrob010 (talk) 20:53, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
- You make a fair point. --ZASNK (talk) 22:58, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
