	[[Yen]] is the currency used in [[Yume Nikki]] and can be randomly gained from killing NPCs. Often after stabbing a character with the [[Effects\|Knife Effect]] equipped, there will be a scream and a short coin animation, signalling you've earned money from the kill. It serves no other purpose in the game other than being used to obtain [[Heart]]s from [[Vending Machine~~]]s. However, the [[Heart]]s themselves appear to do nothing as you cannot be injured in the game. You can view your total amount of [[~~Yen]] ~~from the main menu in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen.~~
