[[Category:wXeoWvpbbM]] Monochrome GB World is an area accessible from the Apartments.
Features
The graphics in this area resemble a Game Boy game, complete with the screen resolution. The area has a green tint to it, much like an original Game Boy, but you can change it to black and white by talking with an NPC in the area.
When entering this area, Urotsuki's sprite changes to a 8-bit sprite. Although every effect can be equipped, most of them are useless in this world, due to the effect action sprites not having an 8-bit version.
This area mainly consists of a forest, crossed by a river and two roads.
Using the ladder entrance from Stone World places you in a small room, close to the road. After coming out of the room, it's impossible to get in again, since the three doors to the building you were in seems to be locked.
Entering through the Apartments' sewers has you climb out of a well, and places you above an underpass that takes you to the other half of the area. Here, you can find the main building. There is not much inside the building, since most of the doors and stairs are blocked by boxes (possibly the area will be expanded in later releases). By going east from the path of the building, you can find an underpass to the GB Tunnel.
Going up the elevator in the main building will take you to hall with some doors. Going through the door on the back wall brings you to an area with a TV you can turn on and off, and an NPC who can change the color scheme of the area. Taking the stairs going up will bring you to the roof, and the down stairs take you outside the main building where you can go to another building with a room similar to Urotsuki's.
Inside the room is an NPC who reacts only to the Glasses effect (you can't even use the Chainsaw on him) and the patio door is locked. To unlock the patio door, you will need to turn the TV in the main building on and off until a picture of a giant eye appears on it. Leave it on, then go to the back building. The NPC will be gone and you can leave through the patio door.
This will take you to a monochrome maze similar to the FC World Dungeon in Yume Nikki. This maze contains two connections, a portal that will take you to the Sunken City and a staircase that serves as a one-way portal with the GB Fields.
GB Fields
The GB Fields is a landlocked area with an Uboa-like shape. A portal can be found southeast from the entrance, which leads to a small section with humanoid creatures. An invisible ladder can be found at the center of this room, leading to a dungeon-like segment. A white prism can be found inside the dungeon, which leads to the Iron Crypt (瓦礫と忘却, Wrecked and Forgotten), a maze-like room which plays as the usual areas on the game. Another white prism can be found in this room, which connects with Nail World.
A ladder can be found next to the previously described portal, which connects to a labyrinth surrounded by water. A ladder can be found at the top-right corner of the maze, which leads to a black area. Going directly north from the entrance will remove the monochromatic sprites, leading to a small room with a rotating void in the center. The rest of the room is currently on development.
Another ladder can be found near the top-left corner of the maze, which leads to a different section of the fields with a portal in the center. Entering this portal leads to a room with three floral creatures with a big eye, which surround a ladder. This ladder leads to a dark corridor with pillars marking a path to a blocked door.
GB Tunnel
This is a straightforward path ending in a fissure blocked by construction signs, alongside a passage, which then leads to a room with a ladder to the lower level, which branches into two paths. In the rooms that from these paths, you can find security drones lurking. Getting noticed by them will chase Urotsuki, driving her out of these rooms on impact. These drones protect the rooms' respective power switches, which activate the lights on the side of the rooms' entrances. If the power switches on both rooms are activated, without getting caught by the security drones in the process, a middle path will appear, leading to the other side of the fissure from the entrance. Heading to the exit will lead back to the surface, with upbeat music playing this time. In here, you can find paths blocked by construction signs, as well as a broken security drone that will give you Menu Themes#Menu Theme #40 upon interaction.
Directions
Nexus → Mushroom World → White Fern World → Apartments → Monochrome GB World
Trivia
- Before version 0.113b Patch 1, the GB Fields wasn't divided in different sections. A full map of the of the area in previous versions can be found in the gallery.
- A portal surrounded by totems was located at the south-east section of the island. The human-shaped NPCs in this room had a 1/26 chance per interaction of teleporting to a small, horizontally looping area with the same humanoid NPCs. Interacting with the NPCs in this area also had a 1/26 chance of teleporting back to the fields. This map got replaced by a bigger, open area which is currently unused.
