Green World (previously called Macabre World) is one of the four main areas accessible from the Nexus.
Features
The Green World has a parallax background resembling a grey spiral that moves over a black floor. The bright green and eye-catching colours of some NPCs and floor tiles contrast with the spiral, making them stand out vibrantly. Ghostly wafts of mist float around alongside silently glitching grey NPCs. Patches of swaying white lilies also dot the landscape.
Right from the entrance, the use of the manji symbol is evident. Four pathways begin at the entrance and end at a green, glitching NPC called a Blobman. No NPCs in the Green World can be interacted with (or killed by the Shovel prayer) except the Blobmen.
The Tall Geta prayer is placed in this world since version 0.03. These sandals are the speed effect of Answered Prayers and make Fluorette walk faster. There are two short-cuts to this prayer. One option is to follow the trail of green tiles south-west from the entrance. Another option is to go left from the entrance until one bumps into a Blobman surrounded by green tiles, similar to the way flowers surround the sandals. Go down from there to find the tall geta.
The Green World seems to be constructed to aid the player. For instance, two arrows guide the player to the Nexus, and another arrow south-east of the entrance points to the teleport node to Glitch World.
Green Hallway
The Green Hallway is accessed by the green gate north-east of the entrance. The hallway is made out of bright green tiles and green drops falling down the sides of the path. This ultimately leads to the Outlands.
A friendly Chimiko wanders here. If you enrage her, she will send you to the Playground.
Directions
- Nexus > Green World - Enter the green door.
- Green Hallway - Enter the gate north-east to Nexus door.
- Outlands - Go to the end of the hallway.
- Glitch World - Interact with the teleport node at the end of the long arrow south-east of the entrance.
- Green Hallway - Enter the gate north-east to Nexus door.
Trivia
- As of version 0.03, Macabre World has been renamed Green World in the game's files. NPCs and graphics were changed to green. The same is true for the Green Hallway.
- The white lilies resemble the lilies in Sky Garden from Yume Nikki.
- If interacted with, the Blobmen respond with a buzzing sound and morph into a sequence of signs that resemble the ones in Symbols Maze. This indicates they may be attempting to communicate with Fluorette.
- Macabre World was a very different world compared to what Green World of today. Some of the changes include:
- The soundtrack was different - instead of a gloomy tune, it played a menacing and somewhat nonsensical joining of telephone beeps and radio noises.
- The Blobmen stayed in a glitched form after being interacted with.
- Large pools of red liquid covered the area. Grey jellyfish were found in the red liquid pools, and a glitched blue one with eyes took you to Glitch World
- Blib from the Arrow Lane is here, is coloured red and follows you around again if interacted. If not interacted with, it keeps flying around in circles. It plays a different sound effect and neither reacts to you equipping the Shovel nor activating the Phantom Prayer - which in this version makes you invisible.
- Three motionless Blips with muted colours are found near it. These Blips are surrounded by ice for some reason.
- Some gloopy black/red statues were present.
- Chimiko was not in this version.
- The hallway leading to the Outlands has a very different appearance now and actually looks more like a hallway.
