The name for the school boy effect literally is written as "gakuran" in romaji, which is the style of school uniform male middle school and high school students usually wear. I came with the term "school boy" because I thought that "male school uniform" would be too clunky of a name for the effect, and that keeping the name "gakuran" would had done little to clear-up the whole police officer/conductor error many players were making.
