Did anyone else notice now that as of .100d, that there is a new staircase in the downstairs portion of the apartments; it leads to a small room with a single door that serves as a short cut to the forest pier. In fact, it takes you to a small clearing first with a corroded doorway that leads out in the same location that you would normally enter the forest pier from the cog maze world.
