Yume 2kki:Authors

This page lists the architects of the dream worlds, so to speak, along with a brief description of each, a selected listing of the maps they have made, and relevant contact information.

Authors are categorized as such: core and associate. The former are the main Japanese team members, who can directly contribute to the game following reservation and runner declaration protocols. On the other hand, the latter are authors foreign to Japan and as such are subject to proxy implementation protocols.

The Six-Month Rule is an agreement between the authors, that if an author fails to update within six months of their previous update, then their maps may be freely edited by other authors (unless otherwise specified). The rule is reset when they update again. It's a pretty good litmus in determining whether an author is active.

Core Authors

A

A is an author known for their simple graphics and a strange atmosphere. They are responsible for the Graveyard World and the Hospital.

HAL

HAL, from whom Smokin' HAL derives his name, is a author characterized by their flat textures and bright colors, along with simple worlds. They are responsible for the Digital Hand Hub, Stone World, and Geometry World.

20

20 has requested all edits, regardless of how small, to his maps to be described in detail, and to be bug free.

20, also known as Twenty, is one of if not the most prominent author in the team, with his worlds being known for having detailed graphics and simple but unique atmospheres that differ in most of their work. His worlds have become some of the most known in the whole game, and are largely what defined the unique feel and style that Yume 2kki is associated with. Most of his worlds have remained as some of the most iconic for over a decade. He has created worlds like The Nexus, Japan Town, Monochrome Feudal Japan, Underwater Amusement Park, The Docks, Sewers and more. For a full list of his worlds, click here.

710 is one of the most prominent authors. he is known for his simplistic artstyle reminiscent of Earthbound/Mother. Most of his worlds try to evoke fear in the players by the use of darker colors and strange figures. Most of his worlds are located in both deep and early parts of Urotsuki's mind, creating some of the most recognizable worlds in the game. Y0M created Minigame B, also known as Red-Blue-Yellow.

418 is an author known for their lighthearted feeling and their graphics reminiscent of Earthbound/Mother. They created the Garden World and the Blue Forest.

Pinu

Pinu (ぴぬ) is a author characterized by their colorful artstyle and a unique feeling in them. They're responsable for the Heart World, The Deciding Street, and the Dizzy Spirals World.

dedp

dedp has asked that MAP0134 be left alone.

Dedp is a prominent author known for using edits of publicly-submitted assets in his worlds. Making most of his worlds have realistic textures used in surreal settings. kuraud is an active author in the development community. Kuraud is the one who initially added many of the events in Urotsuki's real-life bedroom, including the addition of the Computer and the Game Console. In addition, he created Toy World, the Red Brick Maze, the Mini-Maze, the French Street, and the Day & Night Towers, among others. He also created the Penguin minigame. Sabamiso (鯖味噌) is an author whose work is known for their semi-flat graphics and a more unsettling atmosphere, with their worlds giving a general ghostly feeling. They are responsible for the Shinto Shrine, The Circus, and Monochrome Street. They are also the creator of the fangame Hallucigenia (ハルキゲニア).

oudn

Oudn is a prolific author who is known for their wildly varied style and their particular use of colors. They have created some of the most known worlds in the game, being one of the developers who defined Yume 2kki atmosphere in general. Most of their worlds are located early in Urotsuki worlds, being easy to find for new players. They are responsible for the Mushroom World, Bug Maze, Realistic Beach and more. 185 Go (百八十五号, No. 185) is an author known for his wonder-like atmosphere and colorful graphics. He also is known for his own music he made for their work. His worlds are located in the "deep-sea series" (as he put it), Located from the southern part of Atlantis. They created the Star Ocean and the Rusted City.

Bokun is an author characterized by their simplistic graphics and a varied use of strong colors. Most of his worlds have a surreal and unique feeling within them. They created the Intestines Maze, Spelling Room, The Baddies Bar, and more. For a full list of his worlds, see here.

Zenmaigahara has requested that any new outfits in the dressing room be unable to be removed from the area.

Zenmaigahara (ぜんまいヶ原) is an author known for their calming yet with a unsettling tone and atmosphere within their worlds, which have a unique use of color, as well as semi-detailed graphics. n3, better known as koronba, is an author known for his music they make for his own worlds, becoming in some of the most prominent tracks in the game. These tracks also being used by other developers. His worlds visually have calming colors and detailed textures, with the usual lack of NPCs giving them a lonely yet soothing atmosphere. Yuki-Hitsuji (ゆきひつじ) is an author whose work is characterized by their unique and nostalgic feeling, along with their pleasing use of various colors. Zoo is an author known for their paint-like texturing, as well as their general dreamlike feeling. They are responsible for the Dream Beach and the School.

Uwonozoki (うをのぞき) is an author whose work is characterized by their happy atmosphere and simple graphics with calming colors. They are responsible for the Fountain World and the Boogie Street. Tonden

Tonden requested to be contacted if any edits are to be made.

Tonden is an author known for their whimsical atmosphere. They created the Eyeball Archives.

wataru

Wataru (わたる) was one of the most prolific authors on the team, with their worlds being known for his largely complex artstyle and world design, which used complex dithering texturing that gave their art a realist feeling. As well with a nostalgic feeling and a soft post-apocalyptic theming. Most of his worlds were located in long linear routes deep within Urostuki's dream world. He is also responsible for the implementation of the Egg collectibles. He created the Forest Pier, Overgrown City, Depths. For a full list of his worlds, click here.

Spelude is an author characterized by their colorful arstyle and their emotional theming. Most of her worlds are considerably hard to find in the dream world, requiring for example elaborated puzzles or obtuse entrances to get to them. She also is known for her unique music that she composes for her own worlds, being considerably more melody-based than other music in the game. Ca (Calcium) is an author known for their calm atmosphere, They are responsible for the Maple Shrine.

Yeris

Yeris (イェリス) is an author known for their unique atmosphere and simple artstyle, as well as their use of NPCs. They are also known to create their own BGMs for their work. They are responsible for the Broken City, Binary World, Pencil World and more. For a full list of their worlds, click here.

GALAXY (Starman) is an author characterized by their simplistic style as well as their heavy use of NPCs with a lot of interactions. They created the Cyber Maze, GALAXY Town, and the Sugar World.

Mosenite

Mosenite (モセニテ) is a skilled author whose worlds are known for their detailed graphics as well as their soothing atmopshere. Their music is also noteworthy, becoming some of the most prominent tracks in the game. These tracks also have been used by other authors in their worlds, like for example qxy's Nocturnal Grove or 2i9's Stellar Mausoleum. Mike (みけ) is an author known for their extremely unique style, with an alien yet emotional feel to their work, along with their strong use of colors. They are responsible for the Red Rock Caves.

G-Seeker

G-Seeker (Gシーカー) is an author characterized by their strange graphics as well as unique gimmicks to their work. They created the Dream Bank, only to eliminate their work and leave the project very soon after. their world was added again as of 0.109c Patch 2.

natl

natl has requested all edits be well-documented.

Natl is an author characterized by their detailed texturing as well as unique using of colour. Most of their work have an intrincate design filled with NPCs and details within them, and tend to have a really varied theming across them. 310 (12部屋目の310) has no worlds, but is instead one of the most prominent programmers and the author responsible for maintaining much of the events that occur in the waking world. These include the Kura Puzzles, Urotsuki's computer, and the Music Room.

Anon

Anon (アノン) is an author known for their unique feeling and varied theming, along with detailed textures and panoramas. They created the Burial Desert, Chaos Exhibition, Industrial Tower, and more. 985 is an author known for their calming and nostalgic atmosphere present in their worlds, along with pleasing colors and an a semi-detailed artstyle. They are responsible of the Galactic Park. Jade Sky Hamlet and The Slums.

juda is an author whose work is characterized by its painterly aesthetic with a strong sense of scale and wonder, and their use of dithering and limited colors in their artstyle. Their unconventional uses of music are also noteworthy, with their worlds often featuring well-known music from older maps, but with their pitch slowed down to the effect of radically altering their tone and atmosphere. They created the Scorched Wasteland, Paradise, Ice Floe World, and Mangrove Forest.

kappa

kappa is an author characterized by the industrial theming prominent in their work, along with being heavily inspired by the original Yume Nikki. Their artstyle also varies highly from world to world. They are responsible of the Gray Relic World, Ocean Storehouse, Container Forest and more. shigurin

shigurin is an author known for designing worlds that are mostly located deep within Urotsuki's dream. Her artstyle is characterized by detailed textures and darker colors, and her maps tend to be sprawling and intricate, often implementing unique events. A good portion of their worlds are located in lengthy semi-linear routes within Urostuki's mind; many of these worlds also contain unique mechanics that set them apart from any other worlds in the game. Recently, qxy has become a prominent part of Yume 2kki's core developer team, regularly fixing bugs and adding various quality of life improvements to it. ROKU95 is an author known for their unique art style with softly blurred assets and bits of extraneous color embedded within otherwise ordinary tiles, generating a cave-like feel in a lot of their work. Nantai (軟体, Soft Body, which appears to be associated with molluscs) is an author known for their simplistic world design, along with creating their own BGMs for some of them. Common visuals in Nantai's worlds include old Japanese architecture and folklore, ghosts and yokai, and molluscs. Most of their worlds are somewhat isolated off from the rest of Urostuki's dreams. Kontentsu is an author whose worlds are characterized for being heavily inspired by the original Yume Nikki, and feature many recurring visual motifs and characters. These include NPCs called "01-kun", repeated instances of the number 28, and a separate dreamer known as "???-tsuki" who is found within a second Nexus deep in the dream world. Aediorugap is an author characterized by many vast, mazelike worlds within Urotsuki's dream as well as a unique simplistic art style. Their worlds are notable for featuring certain audio backing tracks that consist of foley sound effects, such as the sound of an active laundry machine. Kurokagi

Kurokagi (黒鍵) is an author whose style is currently characterized by simplistic looping worlds. So far, it seems their current contributions are still incomplete, as exemplified by the lack of BGM in any of these worlds. They are responsible for creating the Unending River, Amorphous Maroon Space, and the Black Sphere World.

octave

Octave is an author whose style is marked by various distinctions among 2kki's authors. Their visual style often employs creative uses of foreground and background to establish a unique setting. The sound design of Octave's worlds is also noteworthy, featuring music tracks that sometimes add or alter layers depending on what the player does. Moriwo

Moriwo (森温(モリヲ)) is an author whose style is known for their highly detailed spriting style that heavily relies on uses of shadows and contrasting deep colours, many of which use hand-drawn panoramas to achieve a sense of realism and immersion. Akahara Imori (赤波良ゐもり) is the author responsible for Lotus Park.

Yume wo Samayou

Yume wo Samayou (夢を彷徨う) is an author whose work features puzzles that must be solved in order to progress to other worlds. They are responsible for creating the Shape World and the Obstacle Course.

Associate Authors

Associate Authors are authors that cannot directly add their worlds to Yume 2kki due to being non-Japanese speakers, or having no posting access to 5ch due to lacking either a 5ch premium pass or a Japanese IP. These authors' worlds are only added with the help of their proxies, the core authors.

noildoof

noildoof, from the US, is the first Western author to add her worlds to Yume 2kki. She has cited fellow author wataru as a major inspiration. Her worlds feature heavy use of pastel colors and detailed pixel art with memorable NPCs in them. She is one of the most prominent Western authors, and has created worlds such as the Tesla Garden, the Blue Cactus Islands, the Graffiti City, and more. A full list of her worlds can be found here.

Ruri (ルリ) is a former author from the US. Her worlds are very detailed and distinct from one other, which were located all over the dream world. She created the now-removed Crystal Caves, Nightmarish Wilds, TV Labyrinth, Chemical Research Facility, and Volcanic Subterrain.

She currently works alongside the developers of another fangame, Uneven Dream (Outotsu Yume).

Río

Río is a Chilean author, whose contributions are inspired heavily by the work of fellow author wataru in both spriting style and world design, though with a considerably warmer tone, a more varied set of creations, and a distinct painterly aesthetic. Most of his worlds are located in lengthy "routes" deep within Urotsuki's mind. Additionally, Río has composed some of the music for his worlds.
