[[Category:2i9]] Monkey Wasteland (map name shared with Butterfly Passage) was an area previously accessed by interacting with the monkey servant that appears beside the hole in the Monkey Mansion Basement after viewing the March of Progress event.

Features

The Monkey Wasteland was a deranged, dying version of Whipped Cream World, perhaps representative of intense rot or infection. The ground was a dark maroon-like color and the stalks and plants typical of Whipped Cream World had shriveled and turned a sickly brown.

The area was far, far more difficult to navigate than Whipped Cream World, absolutely filled to the brim with secret passages hidden in the brush. In addition, the area was surprisingly large, and could take upwards of several minutes to explore in its fullest.

The initial section of the area was identical in structure to the forest in Whipped Cream World outside the entrance to the mansion, except one cannot access the large clearing north of the mansion. However, the path to the main area of Whipped Cream World had been blocked off, and instead the player was forced to explore a much more difficult network of brush to get to the clearing, on the east side of the area where the portal back to Whipped Cream World would have been. Hints on the way forward can be found by looking at the patterns of smiling faces across the ground.

Once the player has found the clearing, they would be able to head south through more brush to find a smaller area, with a frowning face on the ground, visible if the player headed west at the blocked off portal back to Whipped Cream World instead of east. Using the Glasses effect in the northern wall of boxes will reveal that there are evil spirits dwelling behind them. By heading all the way south from here, the player could access a small room with a strange grey and red door on the other side, blocked by a traffic cone, which transforms into a butterfly if the Chainsaw is equipped, which can then be killed.

Going through the door would lead to an area filled with the same structures in Whipped Cream World and Butterfly Passage, where the floors are pulsating bubbles, in which the camera pans up and down in a periodic manner. Going all the way forward, the player would encounter the same butterfly from the previous room, which is now above reach, along with a fish that will take the player to Blue Forest when interacted with.
