The Black Cat is an NPC that appears on the Mall Rooftop.
Overview
When Madotsuki enters the Mall Rooftop area, the Black Cat can be found there as the sole resident of the rooftop. The Black Cat simply resembles a normal black cat with red eyes.
It can be found in one of three positions on the rooftop. It is commonly seen sitting atop the door well or on one of the air conditions of the left of the rooftop, though there is a 1/64 chance it will be to the right of the doorway, sitting at a reachable height and allowing Madotsuki to interact with it. It does not move around, though it will begin grooming itself every twenty seconds and it will meow when interacted with.
If the Knife effect is equipped near it, its eyes will turn pink, and if the Cat effect is equipped, it will gravitate towards Madotsuki.
Trivia
- Black cats are often associated with witchcraft, which may be a subtle clue to use the Witch effect near the rooftop's edge to experience the Witch's Flight event.
- It has been speculated that the Black Cat is inspired by the witch partner cat Jiji in the Studio Ghibli animation Kiki's Delivery Service.
