Topdown Dungeon is an area accessible from the teleporter in Nefarious Chessboard.

Features

Topdown Dungeon is large 8-bit style dungeon viewed from above. This maze-like dungeon contains several paths, dead ends, and strange NPCs throughout. While exploring, there will sometimes be the mysterious sound of a ringing telephone. No effects can be equipped while in this area.

While in the dungeon, Urotsuki has a unique retro styled sprite as well as a unique menu icon. Holding interact while here will make her spin and sit in place facing left. Pressing either Z or X in this state will make the player able to move her again.

Starting from the Nefarious Chessboard teleporter, there are the following points of interest in the dungeon:

  • Heading all the way north then all the way east will take you to a locked door with a strange symbol on it.
  • Heading all the way east from the teleporter will eventually lead to another section of the dungeon. Heading north here will bring you to a room with stairs to FC Basement.
  • Heading south from the teleporter and then making your way to the southeast corner of the dungeon leads to a room full of boxes. Here there is a flight of stairs that leads to Monochrome GB World.
  • Two rooms north from the above connection is another flight of stairs, which leads to another room leading to the Realm of Dice.
