NostAlgic A sprite old regular.png

Currently in my sandbox I will document old versions of nostAlgic. Starting with world maps of ver. 0.01. Please feel free to adapt from my sandbox into the actual nostAlgic wiki if you want. I will be slowly adding more world maps and other things such as soundtracks, changelogs, and explanations of removed effects. Thanks for checking this out!!

NostAlgic ver. 0.01

NostAlgic ver. 0.01 World Maps

Most world names are ones I came up with myself, as a lot of these are exclusive to this version. (Well, we have no record of ver. 0.02, so there's no way to tell yet if that is indeed the case...) But there are a couple that have stuck around all the way to the current version.

NostAlgic ver. 0.01 Accessories

Effects are called Accessories in these old versions, and would be called that way until ver. 0.06.

Passive Effect: None.
Action (Shift): A current flashes through A's body, and then depending on the dream world A is in, the radio appears to pick up different loud noises and plays them constantly until Shift is pressed again.
Location: Found by interacting with a small portable radio in Footprints World.
Practical Uses: None.

NostAlgic ver. 0.01 Removed World Features

Clock World

This world features bent clock hands, numbers and letters, pocket watches, and broken glass shards strewn about everywhere on a black void. There are also some humanoid clock and calendar NPCs that make sound effects when interacted with. No connections to other worlds or any collectibles can be found, other than the connection back to the nexus.

Crystal Rooms World

This cave-like world is a labyrinth of mostly empty rooms. In between two rooms on the wall when going directly left from the Nexus entrance, a mural of a smiling sinister-looking figure can be seen holding a lantern, with the moon above them. On another wall elsewhere in the map is a decorative clock. Going south one room from the Nexus entrance is a white hole in the wall that leads to Garden Chair World. Going two rooms east of that white hole is one room that has a pillow with a knife on it what when interacted with, gives the Box Cutter effect.

Footprints World

This dark, mysterious world seems a bit empty at first; seeming only containing a small portable radio that gives the Radio effect upon interaction directly north and a bit to the east. Two white monsters fused together and a white monolith with a face can also be found. However, stepping on certain invisible tiles throughout the map will make A freeze in place and cause footprints and handprints to rapidly appear all over the place. The monolith will also have its mouth wide open, although attempting to go inside it will display the message 「この先開発中です」, indicating the area beyond is under construction.

Jewelry Road

This peaceful world has a highway shaped like a crescent road in the middle of a windy valley. Going west a bit, then north reveals a machine of sorts with three round slots. A must find and interact with three colored gems throughout the map and bring them back to the machine to unlock the next area. Once this is done, A can visit an oasis shaped like a crescent moon. There is both a 1 in 11 chance and a 1 in 12 chance there will be a mermaid(?) sitting by the oasis. The RNG is rolled twice per room entry.

Planaria Crib

This world features a big background panorama full of pink and blue hearts. Salmon-colored mollusk eggs can be found dotting the map. Directly to the north, there is an upside-down V formation of Planarian flatworms. Passing through the formation makes more them appear all over the map. A small cottage can be found east of the formation, but it's locked. Another planarian flatworm can be seen following A. If A equips the Box Cutter effect around it, it will run away from them. Killing this flatworm will reveal the key it was holding, which can be used to unlock the aforementioned cottage.
Inside the cottage are two babies sleeping in their beds. Trigger warning: this event is pretty vile (murder, blood, gore imagery) Upon equipping the Box Cutter effect and killing both babies, hearing their cries and waiting for a while, A will hear the sound of someone frantically knocking on and trying to open the door. When hearing these knocking noises, attempting to leave will result in the door flying open and a big mess of blood spilling into the room before the screen cuts to black and A suddenly wakes up.

Waving Hands World

This world features many hands waving, with the waves revealing the panorama background underneath. There is also a hand that looks messed up and glitchy. There seem to be no other points of interest.

Minigame

A minigame exists on A's real world balcony. It can be played by interacting with the gap in the railing and hitting the first option on the first choice branch. To play a version that skips the opening dialogue, hit the second option on the second choice branch.
You control a very fast airplane. The object of the game is to destroy all the television sets by colliding with them while dodging the remote controls, as they are indestructible. You are given an A, B, C, or D rank based on how many TVs you are able to destroy (worth 1 point each) before time is up. You are also penalized by 1 point for colliding with a remote control.

NostAlgic ver. 0.03

NostAlgic ver. 0.03 World Maps

There were some maps in which r48 could not fetch the RTP backgrounds that were used in them, so I either colored the background all-black or just edited it in like with the school map. My apologies...

NostAlgic ver. 0.03 Accessories

These accessories were added as of this version (again, no record of 0.02, so no way to tell what is new or what has been present since that version).

Camera (カメラ)

NostAlgic A sprite old camera.png

「カメラを持つ シフトで時間を止める機能付き」
Appearance: A wears a camera around their neck.
Passive Effect: None.
Action(Shift): The screen flashes white and a camera shutter sound is heard, stopping NPCs and even the scrolling of most panoramas.
Location: Pink Seabed
Practical Uses:Can be used to stop chasers.
This accessory takes the place of the Photographer accessory. A wears the camera around their neck now rather than their shoulder.

Zero Gravity (無重力)

NostAlgic A sprite old zerogravity.png

「無重力になる」
Appearance: A floats above the ground.
Passive Effect: A moves very slowly and can pass over certain gaps.
Action(Shift): None.
Location: Pastel Space
Practical Uses: Needed to get the Long Hair accessory.

Fruit Knife (フルーツナイフ)

「対象を殺害できる 発動はエンターキー」
This effect takes the place of the Box Cutter effect. It has a new name and equipping animation.
Location: Sunset Tiles Path

Clock (時計)

NostAlgic A sprite old clock.png

「最初の世界に戻る 発動はシフトキー」
Appearance: A looks like a grandfather clock.
Passive Effect: None.
Action(Shift): The clock spins and A returns to the nexus.
Location: Clock Giant's House
Practical Uses: Can be used to return to the nexus quickly.

School Uniform (制服)

NostAlgic A sprite old studentuniform.png

「制服を着る」
Appearance: A wears a school uniform.
Passive Effect: None.
Action(Shift): None.
Location: Bright School
Practical Uses: Can reveal NPCs hidden in one of the rooms in the Bright School.

Tree (木)

NostAlgic A sprite old tree.png

「木になる」
Appearance: A becomes a walking tree.
Passive Effect: None.
Action(Shift): None.
Location: Can be found in Needle Patchwork after interacting with the girl in her room until the background changes to a tree (the girl has to be walking around, not floating) and then leave the room. Interact with the big tree with the pillows.
Practical Uses: None.

Long Hair (長髪)

NostAlgic A sprite old longhair.png

「髪が伸びる」
Appearance: A grows long hair.
Passive Effect: None.
Action(Shift): None.
Location: Can be found by interacting with A's mother in bed after navigating Scarred Mirror World and Wavy Mirror Hallway.
Practical Uses: None.

Ribbon (リボン)

NostAlgic A sprite old ribbon.png

「リボンを結ぶ」
Appearance: A wears a green ribbon.
Passive Effect: None.
Action(Shift): None.
Location: Vegetable Farm
Practical Uses: None.
