Name reasoning
We thought, due to one of the characters being named after 'Diglett', it was ok to have another reference name that would be harmless. We made a mix name joke of the tentacles looking like straws -as said in trivia- and a character from a web browser game who has multiple eyes and a similair headshape: 'Roary Scrawl'. Manhole, even though of course a normal word, looked a bit strange and was a bit simple. But a redirect is there is people still look for it that way. (also the word is mentioned on the page itself, so they will find it even without redirect)

Renaming back to Manhole-sama
The renaming of this character is completely unnecessary. It was generally agreed that Vomiting Diglett wasn't a good name, so why would you take that and shoehorn it here? The idea of referencing a character just because another article does the same is nonsensical. That idea is frowned upon and should be kept to a minimum. Manhole-sama was just fine, and I personally think it's much more of a straight-forward and fitting name for this character. BlayAndHowlie (talk) 09:05, December 26, 2016 (UTC)
Why is this page called this?
It should have a name that accurately describes the subject (or an official name)! Or at the very least to a Japanese audience. Steve lief kareha gets a pass on this because it was named after the person who discovered it of course, but judging from another post on this talk page, it seems the name of this is a pop culture reference. If we only had literal names, it will soon get confusing and hard to find/tag. You tag a character "Red Tentacle Monster", you will find a lot of unrelated to Yume Nikki stuff. You search for Roary Straw, it's literally just Yume Nikki content (and nothing related to that reference as you were possibly fearing). Besides, the pop culture reference is almost an aside to this one and I like how it refers to the straws. It's a fitting and cute name, and better than "Manhole-sama" or "Red Tentacle Monster" either way. I think there are more important issues to focus on/fix on this wiki rather than fighting about ok names. Besides, it's already taking off. Renaming this character again will only be more confusing.
