I was messing around with Hyper-V Server 2016, which Microsoft distributes for free, and wanted to see if there was a viable third party desktop that can run on top of it since it doesn't have explorer. I know that this concept is nothing new but I found that explorer_old.exe, which I had pulled out of a ReactOS liveCD, runs perfectly with the only thing that is lacking is the wallpaper. The ReactOS liveCD supplies Hyper-V Server with the preinstalled suite of desktop applications as well. It even has the ReactOS package manager as a replacement for the inferior Microsoft Store, but I am yet to test it until I figure out how to access internet. hehe
