The Mailbox (ポスト,Posuto) is an area accessible from the red mailbox in the Underground TV Complex.
Features
The mailbox is a large cloudy area featuring slot and flag mailboxes of various shapes, sizes and colours. Letters of various sizes are also scattered throughout the area.
Many of the smaller rectangular boxes have face-like designs on them, with the occasional letter on the ground nearby.
Some of the mailboxes feature designs that only appear under certain circumstances. Equipping the Glasses effect near the black slot mailboxes will reveal an eye, and equipping it near the tall flag mailboxes will reveal a long white hand hanging down from inside.
Also within the area are two boxes engraved with inverted kanji.
One is a black box engraved with the kanji 迷 (Mei, Astray)
and the other is a red & gold box engraved with the kanji 夢 (Yume, Dream)
After "a certain variables" [var048] is turned on, both boxes will display their kanji upright and recognizable.
Interacting with the giant blue mailbox in this area will send you to the cave system in the Laboratory, and the giant red mailbox will send you back to the Underground TV Complex.
