The Chemical Research Facility was an area accessible from a building in the Upper Highway. It was removed in version 0.112i.
Features
Climbing up the stairs from the entrance, the Chemical Research Facility starts off in its upper section, a looping area filled with pipes and lights, in which these pipes are connected to containment chambers. Within this section are two light stands with a construction sign in between them, which signifies that there will be a new connection from here in the future. As you explore this section, you will encounter another set of stairs leading to the main proper.
The research facility itself is a series of rooms and corridors, with standard laboratory equipment along the way, such as flasks, beakers, and microscopes, most of which are placed on tables. Going all the way right from the first main corridor, you will encounter a branching path of two other doors. The bottom door takes you to a small corridor to the elevator, which is a one-way trip to the Volcanic Subterrain, while the middle door leads to the deeper parts of the laboratory, where you can find storage rooms and more laboratory rooms. In the middle room at the lowest floor from here, there is a corridor that is currently blocked off by a construction sign.
