Urbia is a location accessible from Dial Tone.

Map of Urbia

Features

Though it is a small location made up of a handful of non-looping segments, Urbia can be difficult to navigate. True to its name, it is a crude abstraction of a big city, characterized by blocky, gray buildings and, more strikingly, a number of light gray passenger cars hanging overhead, suspended from above by giant hooks.

Together with Dial Tone, Urbia is currently a dead end spirit world with no exits. Urbia only connects to Dial Tone, and Dial Tone only connects to Urbia, meaning that leaving is only possible by using the Return ability in the menu or by using the Umbra eidolon.

Streets

The outside street segments of Urbia are populated by robotic NPCs that will make a sound when interacted with and will attempt to flee if Minnatsuki has the Soulfire eidolon equipped, hopping away if they get too close. The robots cannot be killed by Soulfire, but burning them will cause them to speed away in the opposite direction.

Urbia has three main street segments connecting to points of interest. Each segment connects to the other two segments via alleyways on the north side of the road; though several alleys cannot be entered, navigable alleyways are denoted by a break in the curb on the street in front of them.

Street A

Street A is the first street segment accessed after walking east from the Dial Tone entrance, and it can be identified as the only street segment that is not blocked by a building on the west side. The building with the double doors on the east side of Street A can be entered, which leads to a small restaurant. From Street A, Street B can be reached by using the single-width alley to the west, while Street C can be reached using the double-width alley to the east.

Street B

Street B does not have any distinguishing qualities, but it features the entrance to a room containing the NPC Carnell, which is the westernmost door on the street. Two alleys on this street can be accessed: the western alley leads to Street A, and the eastern alley leads to Street C.

Street C

Street C can be identified by a robot NPC seen wildly leaping around on top of one of the buildings. There are four alleys in Street C that can be entered. From west to east:

  • The westernmost alley leads to the Car Swing sub-area.
  • The second alley leads to Street A.
  • The third alley leads to Street B.
  • The easternmost alley leads to a fourth street segment containing a car marked by an Open Connection sign.

Sub-areas

Restaurant

The restaurant is accessible via the easternmost double doors on Street A. There is a uniquely colored robot behind the counter that acts as a vending machine, selling food and drink items for 120 Luna each. The lights can be flickered on and off using the switch on the north side of the room, but the room cannot be exited while the lights are off. Currently, the door next to the light switch is blocked by an Open Connection sign.

Carnell's room

Carnell's Room

Carnell's room is accessible via the westernmost door on Street B. The room is traditionally furnished, including a bed, television, armchair, and table. There is a radio on the table that can be interacted with, stopping Urbia's normal music and replacing it with static. Carnell also has a totem pole that is identical to the one found inside of Minnatsuki's Room.

Carnell is an NPC who bears a color scheme closely resembling Minnatsuki's; he wears a wide-brimmed hat and a poncho with an insignia identical to the one on Minnatsuki's sweater. Carnell does not react to Minnatsuki's presence and cannot be interacted with. However, if the Soulfire eidolon is equipped, then Carnell will stop moving, turn to face Minnatsuki, and equip a Soulfire eidolon of his own. Burning Carnell with Soulfire will cause Carnell to burn Minnatsuki in return, reducing the two of them to piles of ashes. Two orbs - the orbs that Minnatsuki morphs into when using the Return function in the menu - will appear and rise from each pile of ash before Minnatsuki is returned to their room.

Car Swing

Entering the Car Swing area from Street C and attempting to walk to the east side of the screen will trigger a one-time event where Minnatsuki is struck by a car swinging down from the top of the screen, which subsequently blocks the way forward. At this point, it is possible to crawl underneath the car using the Rodentia eidolon, but the exit on the opposite side is currently blocked by an Open Connection sign.
