Golden Shore is an area accessible from the golden pillar in Megalith Lake.

Features

Golden Shore is a looping world, consisting of a body of shallow water that hosts a chain of terraced, artificial islands that are almost entirely solid gold in color. A large number of golden lampposts of variable height and design are standing upon these islands as well as in the water. Some islands feature cherry blossom trees in various stages of growth, with the smallest trees housed in golden planters. The trees themselves are conspicuously non-golden, standing in contrast to their environment.

Layered brick walls comprise the vertical faces of the artificial islands, while the traversable horizontal surfaces are comparatively smooth. Some islands feature stone pathways embedded upon their surface, though they are also golden in color, blending in somewhat with the surrounding terrain. Short staircases built into the walls allow Minnatsuki to climb in or out of the water, as well as access higher tiers of elevation. Islands that are immediately adjacent are often connected via golden rope bridges, allowing passage between them. These bridges cannot be passed under while wading through the water, however.

Gray fish swim through the water at high speeds, each initially headed westward. They will either travel in that direction endlessly, or turn around and start swimming in the opposite direction once they are impeded by an obstacle, such as a lamppost or island wall. The fish will simply phase right through Minnatsuki completely, however. There is a single golden fish among a school of gray fish, the group moving together in an unobstructed path to the west.

A lone gray lamppost on a small, solitary island will, upon interaction, transport Minnatsuki to Megalith Lake. Southwest of this connection, there is a series of seven artificial islands linked by bridges. Of the two northernmost islands of the group, the eastern island holds a golden door which leads to Card Carving Cavern. The largest island of the group, nestled in the southwest corner, is decorated by a row of three round planters. The left and center planters are empty, while a green sprout grows out of the right planter. Interacting with the planter containing the sprout transports Minnatsuki to the Garden.

Northwest from the Megalith Lake connection, there is a very large island with three tiers of elevation. An open connection sign is located at the top in front of a large cherry blossom tree.

Lastly, to the northeast of the Megalith Lake entrance, there is a pair of small islands with a bridge between them. Upon the western island is a bespoke vending machine made of gold.

Trivia

  • There are two golden statues scattered around the world, which seem to resemble the Towel effect from Yume Nikki.
