Artery Maze is an area accessible from the severed blood vessel in Blood Drive.
Features
Artery Maze consists of many tight, winding red paths that resemble blood vessels. As can be seen from a zoomed-out view, these paths are arranged in the shape of a human body. The world is currently only accessible from Blood Drive, and though there are many exits, they can only be accessed by beginning a special event—The Eye—using the Soulfire eidolon.
Before beginning the event, there is not much of interest in the main maze area. An inaccessible open connection can be seen in the pelvic region of the maze, and there is a doorway in the northernmost "brain" section. Taking this doorway leads to a second, separate part of the maze that resembles the circle of Willis. The music slowly fades out when entering this section, but there is nothing of note other than another open connection at the south end. Interacting with the teleport rune by the open connection signs will teleport Minnatsuki a short distance away, but nothing else will happen.
The Eye
In the center of the main maze - in the body's "chest" - is a large, bloodshot eyeball with a red iris. Torching the eyeball with Soulfire will cause it to vanish, leaving a large, empty socket in its place, and begin the Eye event. During this event, many white blood cells will appear and begin to chase Minnatsuki. Additionally, several exits to other locations will appear throughout the maze:
- Virtual Nightmare: In the west "hand"
- Internal Vista: In the east "hand"
- Blue: in the east "leg"
All of these exits are one-way and do not connect back to Artery Maze. Additionally, a bridge to the open connection in the pelvic region appears, and an open connection that does not lead anywhere will appear in the west "leg."
Leaving Artery Maze for Blood Drive via the needle and re-entering Artery Maze during the event will cause the exits to disappear, and the eye will re-appear, but the white blood cells will remain and continue to chase Minnatsuki. This behavior also occurs when interacting with the teleport rune in the separate "circle of Willis" section of the maze.
If caught by a white blood cell, Minnatsuki will be teleported to a tiny, isolated section of Artery Maze that can only be escaped by using the Return ability in the menu or by using the Umbra eidolon.
