OK, theory time.
I noticed after I expanded upon this page that the map actually made a humanoid shape, with a head, eyes, and even a heart and intestines. The reason I didn't put this under trivia is because I was afraid people would joke that the hole to the Shogi Board is the humanoid's butthole, which may seem funny at first but I really don't want that in an article that's supposed to be at least decently mature, even if it is still conversational.
But then I looked at that robot, thought about the sounds you hear when you enter the Shogi Board, and took a much darker interpretation. What if the humanoid shape represents a mother who died during childbirth? It doesn't explain the circuitboard motif or the fact that the player's destination on the other side of the hole is Shogi Board, but it might explain the floral motif at least a little bit, (especially with the flowers around the head!) plus it could work well with your first sight as you enter the world being "HELLO uuORLD"
I dunno, it's probably a stupid theory, but I kind of wanted to share it, because it's still cool. At least in my opinion.
