Kasei's Kid is an NPC that can be found in a small pond on the Witch's Island near Kimajo.

Overview

Kasei's Kid is a green creature with dotted skin and a snake-like head with a large red eye. It swims inside of a small pool found at the end of the dock on Witch's Island, near Kimajo. Its name comes from the similarity with Mars-san (Mars is 火星 Kasei in Japanese), though this may be purely coincidental due to the fact that players cannot see Kasei's Kid's lower half, and that is a major defining feature of Mars-san's design.

Kasei's Kid has a 1/16 chance of appearing in the lake once the room containing it is entered. It can not be stabbed with the Knife effect, although holding the Knife makes it move slower. It shows the standard reaction to the Cat effect. It usually only faces left but will turn to the right when the Stoplight effect is used, also causing its eye to roll slightly back into its head.

Interestingly, it is also set to play a sound when interacted with, though this is impossible to witness without using debug mode as it cannot be interacted with. The noise it makes is similar to one produced by the long-tongued Neon Creature.

Trivia

  • Kasei's Kid was called Tasei's Kid for many years due to a misconception on the pronunciation of the Japanese word for Mars. This was started by an incorrect reading in the Uboachan thread that named many of the game's characters.[1]
