The Shinto Shrine (神社, Jinja) is an area accessible from the Hand Hub through the second portal from the entrance.
Features
The external area consists of two buildings with several statues, tall trees and Torii around them. When you enter either one of the buildings, the interior is the same with both, consisting of red carpeted floors, white and tan walls with sliding doors. It is designed rather like a labyrinth. Inside, there are a number of spirits (that you cannot chainsaw, obviously) and also what appear to be flies.
If you go into the smaller building, you may find a portal to the Circus. On the way to it, you will see lots of black painted faces on the wall, and if you go into the moving mouth on the next screen, you will be transported to the Circus. Alternatively, if you keep walking right, then you will come to a pastel-colored bridge going upwards. At the end of it, you will see a red tree-like structure with a black eyeball in the centre.
In the larger building, you can find a big area with limited obstructions. If you interact with the picture of a blossoming tree branch, you will be sent to a strange path with the monochrome face of a boy's head on it. Sometimes, the screen will turn red, and the boy's face will change to have multiple black eyes and a smiling face. When you reach the end of the path, you will come to the Sakura Path, in which a girl (who appears to have lost all of her limbs) sits at the base of a cherry blossom tree. She does nothing if you interact with her. There is also a small ledge where you can see a number of cherry blossom trees below. Also in the larger building, has a portal to the Monochrome Street.
