Tanuki Woods is an area accessible from the golden tanuki statue in Streets Hub's northeastern section.
Features
Tanuki Woods is a large, looping forested area taking place in the middle of the night, with rocks and logs scattered along the way. A raccoon prowls across the area, running away from the player, sending the player back to the entrance upon interaction.
Just near the entrance is a sign that reads "TANUKI", and north of it is a field of flowers. Further north of this field of flowers is a mannequin that leads to the Museum, and east of it is a ghost-like creature that when interacted with, flashes and disappears afterwards. Northeast of this creature is a bonfire with some people gathered, and if you have interacted with the ghost-like creature, it will be present there, and would be much bigger than it was initially. Interacting with the creature now that it's near the bonfire will take you to the River Path.
West of the entrance is a group of buildings, one of which has a locked entrance which can be opened by stepping on four different switches across the area, which leads to the Hot Springs. Southwest of this building is a TV set, which displays different things depending on the effect that you are currently using. Without an effect, it would display static and text that reads "NO SIGNAL". Equipping the Electric Light effect will display an image of a light next to a gasoline container, and equipping the Duckling Dress effect will display an image of a girl and text that reads "FRIED SOAP BARS".
Hot Springs
This area is a wooden-walled bathhouse inhabited by raccoons, with several hot spring pools around, decorated with bushes right near the walls, where the windows in the northern section show a view of an urban scenery.
At the very right of the area, there is a changing room where Mikan can change into her swimsuit, which lets her enter the pools. Interacting with the rack of towels after changing will let Mikan put a towel on her head, provided that she has already changed into her swimsuit. The rubber duck in the southern pool leads to an isolated pool when interacted with, while the one in the small pool in the northern section leads to a bigger pool, with a path to a view of a mountain.
