Bishop Cathedral is an area accessible from a passage in Monochrome Feudal Japan.

Features

Bishop Cathedral, as the name implies, is a large blue and white cathedral with the bishop chesspiece as a central theme. The cathedral itself is built around a long looping main hallway with several doorways, which lead to other branches of the building. Entering the first door, going up the stairs and entering the east door of the room full of candles, it will take you to more stairs that lead to another room. At the end of this room there is a 1/2 chance (whenever Urotsuki falls asleep) a yellow door that take Urotsuki to Board Game Islands will magically appear. To open the door you need to have the child effect in your inventory, otherwise the door will not open. Once opened, enter quickly or it will disappear again.

Hidden in this world is a puzzle that unlocks Menu Theme #55 when completed. This puzzle consists in placing four plants scattered around the cathedral in their correct jars, first the player must go to the library and look behind a bookcase where there are books missing, interacting with it the player will see the four plants positioned in their respective jars (note that the bases of the jars are striped). Once this is done, the player must first find the plants and then find the jars and position them correctly. These four plants are: a branch, a bunch of flowers, a tulip, and a bush.

Branch.png The branch can be found by heading west in the main corridor connected to Monochrome Feudal Japan;

Bishop Flowers.png The flowers are found at the altar in the rose window hall, after passing through the long staircase;

Tulip.png The tulip is the most hidden, the player needs to walk all the way west down the main corridor and go through the loop three times, once through a door is revealed in the middle of the corridor taking the player to a room containing the plant;

Buch.png The bush is located in the library, certainly the first one the player will see after looking at the solution of the puzzle.

After you have found all the plants you have to place them in their respective right jars according to the solution. Pay attention to the direction in which each jar is facing. When placing the last plant correctly, you will hear a loud sound of rocks moving and then a sound of organ pipes, in the altar of the windows rose room where the flowers used to be in, the statue of the bishop will move revealing an entrance to stairs that go deeper, following this staircase that will lead to a room where the bishop is. Interacting with him will give you the collectible menu, chainsaw him the music will stop and a few seconds later the cathedral will collapse on Urotsuki, crushing her.

NOTE: whenever the player enters this map, the positions of the plants in the solution can be changed, and the jars can also eventually change

Inside the cathedral, there are some clocks that show the current time in the cathedral. Using the grave effect the time can be accelerated. From 1 PM the bell will ring every hour, and at midnight the bells will play a song. If the player is looking at the rose window during the entire song of bells, at the end of the song, someone will walk through the room and leave a banana on the altar table, interacting with it you get more one banana.

Trivia

  • The bell song which plays every midnight is a version of the save theme from Yume Nikki.
