Events are a system on YNOproject to organise meet-ups and game tours. It can be used as an on-site equivalent to the "tours" organised on the YNOproject Discord server.

Events List

The Events panel is accessed from the events schedule button located in the header next to the Log In/Out button. Every event has a name, date, organiser, and often a description of the event. Events also have a heart icon (like button) similar to screenshots, which has a practical use in "following" events the player is interested in joining. Currently, there is no way to be notified of an event starting (although this is a planned feature), so users would have to manually check for available events and plan to join when it starts.

Events are listed in three sections:

  • Ongoing Events - these events have already started. They are removed after refresh, unless they are set to recurring events, in which case they move to Future Events using their coming date.
  • Party Events - if the player is in a party, events created by the party leader can be made exclusive to the party, which is listed separately here. Party events that are currently ongoing will be listed in Ongoing Events along with the others.
  • Future Events - these are events scheduled any time in the future.

Ongoing Events are refreshed every day at 06:00 UTC, regardless of when they have started.

Schedule an Event

Pressing the "Schedule an Event" button at the bottom will open the "Edit Event" panel for creating an event. Only players with accounts may create an event, as the event is tied to account data. Each event copies the system theme the player has when saving the event details. The theme of a created event can be updated by changing the system theme then saving the event again. It's recommended to create an event while in the page of the game the event is supposed to take place in.

For events the current user has created, an edit icon and delete icon will show adjacent to the heart. The edit icon will open the Edit Event panel once more, allowing changes to any of the event details. Pressing the delete icon will immediately delete the event, with no way to undo.

Event creation has the following options:

Edit Event options
Option Explanation
Event Name A name for the event. This is a required field.
Description A description of the event. This can contain emojis. It also supports markdown and links, explained in a table below.
Event Date and Time Every event is required to have both a start date and time. The time displays according to the local time of the player's device.
Recurring Event Recurring events can be set to any numbered interval of days, months, or years. After refresh, the event is moved to Future Events and a new date is displayed.
Limit to Party This option is only available for party leaders. If selected, the event only displays for users in the same party.
External Links Each field in this section allows the player to add a link to an external website. The text is appended to the domain of the website. For example, to link to a YouTube video directly, the full watch ID must be provided, e.g. watch?v=jNQXAC9IVRw

Name and description both support unicode characters. The description also supports markdown syntax and links to Yume Wiki. Links will always use the game the player is currently playing while saving the event, which means modifying the event while in a different game will update the links to the current game's wiki.

Known Issues

  • Since Ongoing Events are refreshed at 06:00 UTC each day, regardless of when they had started, they may be delisted earlier than when they truly end.
  • Due to having no explicit end time, the event organiser must either specify the duration of the event in the description, or delete the event once it completes.
  • Events may have any start date, including dates in the past. These are removed (or the dates change if recurring) as normal after refresh.
  • Following an event has no notification implemented yet.
