The Violet Caves is an area accessible from the Paint Sky.

Features

This place opens up with a large, panoramic view of the night sky over a shallow pool of water. A reflection in the water can be seen, wobbling from the ripples in the water. If the player has slept 10 or more times as both characters, this initial area will display ghostly silhouettes with the Kubo and Totsu symbols on their faces. While the left side of this map leads back to the Paint Sky, the right side leads into the caves proper.

The caves are extremely small and loop both vertically and horizontally, filled with several colorful balls that will bounce around when touched. One of them is a deep violet, and bounces on its own without any stimulation. It will give Totsutsuki the UV Light effect when interacted with, and then turn back into a normal bouncy ball.

Upon using the UV Light effect, the player will immediately see several markings on the floor, which include stars, planets, and Totsutsuki's symbol. Thusly, the world quite elegantly shows the function of the UV Light effect by showing things that were previously invisible.

Deeper Caves

The initial area leads to the Deeper Caves subsection through a hole in the wall which is only visible with the UV Light effect. The area is dimmer than the main area with dark ambient background music and is lighted moslty by the holes on the floor which shows colourful stones with a wavy rainbow layer over them creating a psychedelic effect. The subarea is designed like a spiral which eventually leads out to the next area.

Rosetta Cliff

The Deeper Caves lead outside to the Rosetta Cliff where the player can see a tranquil view of a highway bridge leading into a blue mountain range. Interacting with the cliff's edge pans the camera upwards showing an angel with a bee in her mouth talking in imaginary dream language resembling Greek, Arabic or Hebrew characters.
