The Nexus is the main hub of Itsuki's dream world.

Features

The Nexus is a horizontally-looping area Itsuki arrives at after falling asleep in his room. The Nexus is a central hub for all of his dream worlds, with 12 being immediately accessible through portal archways.

The background music of The Nexus is a smeared version of the Doodle World theme, and the background panorama is the sound wave of Doodle World's BGM. These are both on purpose, and are meant to convey that Doodle World is important, because the Lake is found there.

Itsuki can use the Clockworker effect to return to the Nexus at any time from most locations while asleep.

Connections

The Nexus is connected to 12 worlds through archways themed after the worlds they lead to.

  • Purple Polka-Dot World: Accessed through the beige archway with purple polka-dots inside. When entering the Nexus, Itsuki is put next to this archway, because it contains the Scooter effect.
  • Alphanumeric World: Accessed through the archway made of colorful balls with a pink and orange checker pattern inside.
  • Computer World: Accessed through the grey archway with blue edges and white inside, resembling Windows XP's color palette for application windows.
  • Lava: Accessed through the brown archway with an orange sky inside.
  • 8-bit World: Accessed through the simplistic, non-curvy solid green archway with solid sky blue inside.
  • Data World: Accessed through the rectangular blue archway with little blue dots inside.
  • Mountain World: Accessed through the rough brown archway with lavender inside.
  • Doodle World: Accessed through the wobbly white archway with graph paper inside.
  • Dark World: Accessed through the pitch black archway.
  • School World: Accessed through the sandy-looking archway with white light inside, which resembles the front gate of the School proper.
  • Grassland World: Accessed through the light grey archway with grass on the bottom and a blue sky inside.
  • Space World: Accessed through the white archway with stars inside.

On the opposite side, all the archways insides display the soundwaves in the background of the Nexus, except Computer World, as the Nexus is accessed by pressing the start/home button in the bottom left of the area rather than via the portal.

Trivia

The old Nexus
  • The entrances to the dream worlds being archways is inspired by the Spyro the Dragon game series.
  • The Computer World portal is white inside because it isn't directly linked to the other side (The Internet) but puts Itsuki in a virtual place instead, as well as that the desktop background changes depending on equipped menu theme.
  • Archways can be entered from both sides. However, they will always be exited from the bottom, unless returning to the Nexus from the bottom row of archways, in which Itsuki exits from the top side; entering School World, because the school's front gate is to the north and exiting upwards means Itsuki faces toward it; or entering Computer World, where Itsuki is placed in the center of the area and not next to the portal (because there isn't one).
  • In the first versions of the game, the Nexus' background used to be purple and the sound wave smaller.
