The Guillotine is an effect NPC that can be found in Guillotine World. It grants Madotsuki the Severed Head effect.
Overview
The Guillotine is a pink guillotine with a smiling face, sporting a purple smile and two red eyes that look in the direction the guillotine's blade is moving. The upper part continuously moves up and down as if beheading someone. Two purple posts also hold up the top and bottom portions of the Guillotine. When interacted with for the first time, it gives the Severed Head effect.
The Guillotine can be found within Guillotine World, making it a bit risky to locate with the surrounding lunatic Toriningen in the area. It can be even harder to find in the bigger variant of Guillotine World, where it also resides and grants the same effect. Thus, it is recommended to bring the Bicycle, Triangle Kerchief, or Stoplight effects to either outspeed or avoid the Toriningen, which will make the search for the Guillotine easier. Additionally, the Guillotine can be used as a landmark within Big Guillotine World, as its location in the top-left portion of the area also marks where the exit to Big Guillotine World will be despite the greater number of closets.
Unlike most NPCs, the Guillotine doesn't react to the Cat or Knife effects. However, it will freeze when the Stoplight effect is used.
Trivia
- Two Guillotines exist, as there is one in the regular Guillotine World and one in the Big Guillotine World.
- This makes it one of two effect NPCs that appear more than once in the game, the other being the Frog.
- Unlike the Frog, the code of the two Guillotines differ. While the one in the normal Guillotine World has the usual "Call Event: This Event [1]" command (this command orders to perform the commands on the first event page) on its second page, the other one in Big Guillotine World has the commands from Page 1 copied over, which is unusual.
- Before version 0.07, the Guillotine was located in the southwestern part of Block World, placed at the end of a long white tunnel. Strangely, Guillotine World existed at this time, though the Guillotine was not placed there.
