This section of the style guide concerns the handling of outdated or unused content. This includes content that has been dummied out from games during development, as well as content that has been removed in an update.
Definitions
Unused content refers to content that is present in a game's code or assets folder but is not accessible through normal gameplay, such as unused character sprites, unused or inaccessible rooms, debug tools, or events that are present in the game's code but cannot be triggered through normal gameplay.
Outdated content refers to content that has been altered or removed by successive updates.
Officially released concept art may also be of interest to include in the Trivia section. However, do not include content that only exists in public repositories or other content that might never actually be implemented into a game's code or assets folder.
Avoid uploading or discussing confirmed upcoming content for a fangame to the Yume Wiki. It is discourteous.
Placement
If it would be of interest, move or place outdated or unused content into the Trivia section of the article.
Images showcasing outdated content (such as old screenshots and maps) may be included in a subheading titled "Old Images" in the Trivia section, separate from the main Gallery.
Removed Locations
If a location is removed or disconnected from another location, move the corresponding connections to the Removed Connections section of the Locationbox template. Additionally, on the formerly connected locations, update the corresponding connections by moving them to the Removed Connections section of their Locationbox templates.
If a world has been completely removed from the game, note that the world has been removed in the article's introductory paragraph. Fill out the VersionRemoved
parameter in that world's Locationbox with the correct information.
Tense
Change the tense of pages about removed content to the past tense. If you are writing a new article about content that has already been removed, use the past tense.
