Yellow Bile Tenements is a location accessible from Maroon Dunes or Tile Complex.
Features
Yellow Bile Tenements is a very large spirit world that is divided into several smaller sections. The sun - stricken out with a large X - features very prominently in the background of this world, and the location itself is highly grotesque in appearance, with many of its floors and walls being stained with substantial amounts of the titular yellow bile. The NPCs inhabiting the area are similarly grotesque, being uniformly bulbous and fleshy in appearance. A majority of the NPCs in Yellow Bile Tenements have special interactions with various eidola: NPCs killed with the Soulfire eidolon will have unique death animations, and NPCs will become agitated by the Rodentia and Youth eidola, acting erratic and moving towards Minnatsuki. There are also many cockroaches throughout the world that can be crushed by walking over them.
Outdoors
Whether entering Yellow Bile Tenements from Tile Complex or Maroon Dunes, Minnatsuki will end up in one of two outdoors areas. The outdoor areas in Yellow Bile Tenements consist of long, horizontal paths that are lined by several buildings, some of which can be entered. There is also an additional, more expansive outdoor location - the Pool - that can be reached from one of these paths.
Looping Path (from Tile Complex)
Entering Yellow Bile Tenements via the Tile Complex leads to a looping path that serves as the location's main thoroughfare; this is where most of the entrances to deeper locations within Yellow Bile Tenements can be found. There are 9 accessible doors on this path, but only 3 of them can be entered. There are also 2 locations that can be accessed by walking behind the fences along the path. Traveling east, beginning at the entrance to the Tile Complex:
- The building with only a single blue door on it is the entrance to the Tile Complex.
- The building with a single red door and an attached fence can be entered and is referred to in this article as Building X.
- Walking through the hole in the fence and behind Building X leads to the Pool.
- On the building with both a blue and gray door, the gray door is the entrance to Building Y.
- Walking behind the fence attached to the standalone building with a gray door leads to the Maroon Dunes Path.
Maroon Dunes Path
The path into Yellow Bile Tenements from Maroon Dunes begins with a short transition area that blends the red desert into the sweltering yellow sky. This path does not loop, and traveling east from the Maroon Dunes entrance will eventually lead to the looping path. There are four doors on this path, but only one of them - the easternmost gray door - can be entered, leading to Building Z.
Pool
The Pool can be accessed by walking behind one of the buildings on the Looping Path via a hole in a nearby fence. It is a larger area featuring a dried-out swimming pool with many cockroaches crawling around inside of it. The main highlight of this map is Flagpole, a unique NPC with a long, worm-like neck reclining on a beach chair; killing Flagpole with the Soulfire eidolon causes it to explode spectacularly, with its heavy neck crashing violently to the ground. Minnatsuki can sit on the beach chair next to Flagpole whether it is alive or dead.
The two doors on the west side of the map can be opened, but lead to small rooms with only NPCs inside. The door on the east side of the pool is inaccessible, and there is also an exit inside of the pool itself that is currently blocked by a Closed Connection sign.
Indoors
The indoor areas in Yellow Bile Tenements are generally linear in nature. The background behind each room strobes in and out, featuring images such as skulls, needles, and flesh arranged in a checkerboard pattern. Most rooms are occupied by a number of NPCs, and many of the doors in each building are unable to be opened; opening some doors will reveal they are filled with bile or flesh, causing Minnatsuki to take an abrupt step back before the door shuts again.
Building X
The lobby of this building contains a vending machine (selling various food and drink for 100 Luna each) and an elevator. The elevator can be used by interacting with the button next to the doors (and not the door itself). Riding the elevator leads to a hallway; the only door that can be opened is at the top of the staircase in the hallway, which leads to a balcony with an NPC, a bench, and a clear view of the outdoor sun in the sky. At the bottom of the stairs is an exit blocked by an Open Connection sign.
Building Y
Building Y is the most labyrinthine of the three main buildings in Yellow Bile World, though it is still quite linear, making it difficult to get lost. The correct route through the building is indicated by a vending machine 4 rooms in (which, as in Building X, sells food and drink for 100 Luna each). Continuing beyond the vending machine and progressing deeper into the tenements eventually leads to a larger room where several rows of chairs are set up facing a table at the front of the room in an apparent assembly layout. Behind the table, there is what appears to be an inanimate figure constructed out of bile, fitted with clothing and hair matching Minnatsuki's, known as the Bile Effigy. This figure cannot be interacted with, but it will disappear for the rest of the dream session if burned by the Soulfire eidolon. The elevator on the north side of this room is a one-way exit to the entrance of Building Y; attempting to return through the door at the end of the elevator hallway will reveal it is filled with bile and inaccessible.
Building Z (Maroon Dunes Path)
The entrance room of this building has three doors. The downstairs blue door leads to a small room with three cockroaches while the upstairs door leads to another hallway. Only the gray door in this hallway can be opened, eventually leading to another room containing a unique NPC, though it is barricaded behind a table and cannot be directly interacted with.
