The name Ittan-Momen comes from the youkai with the same name. An Ittan-momen is a tsukumogami (an object which became 100 years old and came to life) and looks like a "long, narrow sheet of cloth normally used to make clothes". They fly around at night and attack people by wrapping themselves around the head of the victim and strangle or smother him to death.

Overview

Ittan-momen resembles a beige towel with two dark red eyes. It flutters as it moves, causing a zigzag shape in their form. When interacted with, they give the Towel effect to Madotsuki. Otherwise, they do not do much else other than wander the Wilderness.

Trivia

  • They resemble and are named after the ittan-momen, a yōkai resembling a long sheet of cloth. The ittan-momen is reported to attack people by wrapping themselves around the head or neck of the victim, which could describe how the Towel effect wraps around Madotsuki.[1]
  • In versions 0.04 through 0.08, Ittan-momen was located just outside of the Barracks Settlement instead of in the Infinite Wilderness.
