Daidarabotchi

Illustration of the Daidarabotchi resembling a mountain range.

Daidarabotchi (also spelled as Daidarabocchi) is a giant yokai. A legend states the Daidarabotchi weighed Mount Fuji against Mount Tsukuba. The Daidarabotchi is said to be responsible for many of Japan's geographic features, such as it's massive footsteps creating lakes. It is also said to appear as a mountain range when it sleeps due to its sheer size. Like other yokai inspiration in the game, the Bloody Touching Monster may have been inspired by this legendary creature.

Bloodletting

The Bloody Touching Monster may be bleeding from the hand or the leg, which are common sites for bloodletting.

Bloodletting is a medical procedure where a person bleeds to rid of illness. It is rooted in the idea that the body recovers its health when the illness contained within bodily fluids is removed.

The Japanese word for bloodletting is 瀉血, sya-ketu. This may be related to the file name of the sneezing music file used in the White Desert and Uboa's Trap, named SYA.

In biology, vasocongestion is the swelling of body tissue due to heightened blood flow. It is believed to be remedied by bloodletting. This could be why the large monster in Uboa's Trap is seen bleeding.

Nutmeg

The yellow door, yellow carpet, and yellow-haired Poniko in Poniko's House resembles the nutmeg fruit. The blood-red and black in Uboa's Trap (not pictured) resembles the nutmeg seed.
The yellow fruit resembles Poniko. The red aril and black seed together resemble the Bloody Touching Monster.

Congestive hepatopathy is a condition causing vasocongestion in hepatic veins. It is called nutmeg liver due to the appearance of the liver becoming "speckled like grated nutmeg."

The warm colors of Poniko's House, and especially the yellow carpet and Poniko's yellow hair, resemble the color of the nutmeg fruit.

The nutmeg seed is black and covered in a red aril (used to make mace), highly resembling the colors of the Bloody Touching Monster.
