Miso Soup Dungeon is an area accessible from Bacteria World.

Features

Annotated map of Miso Soup Dungeon

Miso Soup Dungeon is a massive indoors area, containing many different paths. As the name suggests, the area is themed around miso soup; the walls and floor are yellow, and many large bowls of miso soup with faces can be seen, as well as smaller ones walking around. The large ones sometimes have plants growing out of them, or shadows resting in the soup.

After climbing up the ladder from the Bacteria World entrance, you will immediately be greeted by a branching path, allowing you to go west, east, or north. When you first arrive here, the north room will contain nothing of interest, holding only a soup bowl, a green face on the wall, a patch of red eyes on a blue background. However, upon interacting with any of the teleporters seen in this world, three more of them will appear in this room. The left and right ones are one-way shortcuts to other teleporters; the top one leads to a short passage to Heart Maze. Walking to the left wall of this room reveals an NPC floating outside of it.

Going east from the first room, then south, Urotsuki will arrive in a room with two northern exits, one of which she just came from, and two southern exits. The northeast exit leads to a tiny room with a white whale, which takes her to the Whale Heaven subarea. Going southeast then taking the next southern exit leads to a much bigger room containing many large bowls of miso soup. Taking the west exit from here and climbing down a long ladder leads to a platform with many stick figure humanoids raising one leg. There is a teleporter in the middle of the platform. Interacting with it transports Urotsuki to a longer platform featuring many tall grey objects. Some odd red devices stand in front of the wall, and some statues with red eyes, possibly modeled after Chasers, can be found. At the top right of the platform is an object that isn't greyed out; equipping the Penguin effect reveals a nose on its top half, and interacting from then takes Urotsuki to Atlantis, in front of Seanut. This connection is one-way.

After taking either exit from the Whale Heaven subarea, Urotsuki will arrive in a narrow horizontal hallway. Entering the door in the north sends her to a long corridor with lines of rapidly spinning miso soup NPCs. This place has different music, and applies an orange tint to the screen. The room at the end of this corridor speeds up the music, and causes the tint to begin periodically weakening and strengthening. In this room are more miso soup NPCs, as well as two gigantic bowls without faces, that seem to be wearing some kind of skirt.

If you instead go left in the horizontal hallway, there will be a long ladder leading to a much more open section of the world. After climbing it, heading all the way west leads a white teleport that connects to the Monochrome Throne Room subarea. If you instead head east and then go all the way north, you will encounter a walking soup bowl containing a white creature wearing a blue hat. Interacting with it takes Urotsuki to Expanded Corridors. West of this connection is a long line of miso soup bowls with plants growing out of them.

If you instead divert west before reaching Expanded Corridors, there will be a stationary glitch effect. Touching it leads to Pink Life World; however, entering from this area changes that world's connections.

Whale Heaven

Whale Heaven is a series of pathways in the sky made up of boxes. Several smiling white whales and clouds can be seen outside the path.

From the entrance, heading west, then going north and taking the first west, following the path until it turns south, then taking the west and the next north will lead to a purple teleporter. This takes Urotsuki to an area that seems to be a merge between Whale Heaven and the main area Miso Soup Dungeon, with the flooring and walls of the latter but the boxes, blue sky and whales of the former. Above the top wall are rows of white clouds. Entering the doorway leads to the horizontal hallway in the main area.

There is another exit of Whale Heaven leading to the same hallway. It can be reach by taking every west and south turn from the entrance until you see the top of some walls from the main area, then follow path around south to reach the whale that can be interacted with.

Monochrome Throne Room

The Monochrome Throne Room is a subarea made up of black and white tiles. All music stops upon entering. A little north of the teleport rune leading back to the main area, four white circles with faces and legs are arranged in a line. They wear red bandanas, and make the sound of a baby crying upon being interacted with. In the middle is a black-haired person wearing regal garments and a crown, who plays a chiptune noise upon interaction.

  • Equipping the Chainsaw effect causes the circles to begin crying and the monarch to begin hopping urgently out of fear. While the circles can be chainsawed, attempting to do so on the monarch causes them to play an animation and unequip the effect.
  • Equipping the Rainbow effect causes the monarch to become excited and hop slowly. Interacting with them makes the screen flash and plays a sound.
  • Equipping the Cake effect causes the monarch to become excited and hop. Interacting with them makes Urotsuki flash and plays a sound.
  • Equipping the Tissue effect causes the circles to begin crying and the monarch to gain a sad face. Interacting with the circles causes them to play a higher pitched crying noise than usual, and rain will start for a moment before stopping again. The monarch does the same, but plays a different noise.
  • Equipping the Crossing effect causes the monarch to begin wandering around the room. If its effect action is used, they will look forward and gain a happy face while stopped by it.

Trivia

  • Using the teleporter from Whale Heaven to the merged area changes the music back to the main area's, but entering the merged area from the hallway causes it to switch to Whale Heaven's music. Because of this, if you enter from the hallway and then leave again, you can play the latter's music in the main area.
