The Haniwa Ruins is an area accessible from the giant Haniwa statue in Spiked Fence Garden.
Features
Upon entering this area, the Haniwa Ruins are very dark. The Lantern can be used to light the area, albeit in a very limited manner akin to how it functions in Dark Museum. However, doing so will attract the ire of the Robot Guard chasers patrolling the ruins. For this reason, the Haniwa is much safer to use, as it lights up the area much brighter than Lantern does, at the cost of slower speed and applying a blue tint. Many small haniwa sculptures can be found in the ruins, which react to the Haniwa effect and flash their eyes red when equipping the Chainsaw.
At the entrance, you will find two murals at the walls of two alcoves, the left of which resembles the Day and Night Towers with a scale in its center, whereas the painting in right alcove depicts that of abstract squares. On occasion, as you explore, you may find large Buddha statues blocking an entrance, which moves if the Haniwa effect is use. Points of interest include a mirror that may contain Urotsuki's face, a burial room with a mummy and bronze bells, as well as numerous murals that are ancient twists on existing worlds, such as (possibly) Dream Mexico.
Deeper into the Ruins, you can find a group of dancing Haniwa sculptures, which bring to mind the Haniwa Dance event from Haniwa Temple.
A couple of rooms, including one with a giant hole in the center, which leads to the Labyrinth of Dread.
