Chaos Labyrinth is a looping world consisting of a network of interconnected black pathways set atop a colorful background. The spaces between the traversable pathways are filled by grids of thinner black lines.
Within this world are two lumpy pillars that, when passed between, will typically send Minnatsuki to Mossy Tunnels. However, there is a 16% chance that this will instead send Minnatsuki to a subarea of Chaos Labyrinth. This single screen-sized subarea consists of a thin horizontal pathway in front of an animated backdrop of colorful shapes which gently bob up and down within a black space. Walking off the eastern end of the pathway will take Minnatsuki back to the two pillars in the main area of Chaos Labyrinth, while the western end will lead to Mossy Tunnels.
While playing online on YNOproject, the subarea reacts to the number of players present within it. As soon as at least two players are present together within the subarea, the A Great Something event will activate after the background completes its animation loop. Once the event starts, a sound like howling and rushing wind will play, and all of the background's colorful shapes, save for a single point of yellow light, will collapse around this point of light and reemerge in a new configuration. The background will then remain in this state until the subarea has been exited, even if all other players have left.
