The Batsu are a group of NPCs that live in the Northern Wilderness, located just through the plant warp in the Infinite Wilderness.

Overview

The Batsu are creatures resembling the Wilderness's surrounding vegetation, with two variants coming in the pale and muddy green colors also seen on the surrounding plants. Their bodies are largely an S-shaped curve, curving into a circle at the top, which holds a single red eye.

Interacting with the Batsu doesn't cause anything to happen. If the Knife effect is equipped, their bobbing movement will slightly speed up and they will disappear when stabbed like other NPCs. When the Stoplight effect is used, they will close their eyes and stop moving. They do not react to the Cat effect, likely due to being planted into the ground.

• The name Batsu may have come from a misinterpretation of a Japanese fan website. The website used the name 薇 (zenmai) for the Batsu, which is the name of Osmunda japonica, a plant common in Japan. The name was likely chosen due to the visual similarity between the Batsu and the frond of the plant. This name was translated to "Batsu" by Uboachan user pixie. 薇 is sometimes translated to rose, which in Japanese is more commonly 薔薇, bara, and can be written in hirigana as ばら. The user may have incorrectly read it as ばつ (batsu) instead.
