Kinoko-san are NPCs found in the FC Basement.
Overview
Kinoko-san appear to be mushroom-like creatures that hide in two rooms in the basement: the room with the door leading to the room with the Demon effect and inside the room with the FC Demon. These NPCs have different colors depending on their position.
One of the Kinoko-san may block the door to the room with the Demon effect, though they will slowly move out of the way. The Cat effect can be used to move them away from the door, or the Knife effect can be used to clear them from your path.
They do not do anything upon interaction and will move around randomly. Like most NPCs, they display the standard reactions to Cat, Knife, and Stoplight effects.
Trivia
- In the game's files, there are unused dark and red variants of Kinoko-san, though they look largely the same as the used variants albeit with different colors. One of them in the room with the FC Demon may change into these unused sprites as a reaction to Cat effect, although this is likely an error as this doesn't occur in any other found version.
- The place where Kinoko-san are found may relate to how mushrooms have stimulated growth when exposed to jolts of electricity or large sounds simulating lightning strikes. They are located near the FC Demon, the giver of the Demon effect, which makes Madotsuki produce lightning strikes when it rains.
