Since its inception, Yume 2kki has been undergoing continual development, with numerous areas across the dream worlds that have yet to be completed.
To show such instances, places leading to areas that have yet to be implemented are blocked with construction signs, as well as traffic cones and barricades.
Construction signs, similarly to Teleport Runes have become quite iconic in the community, going so far as to having an entire world dedicated to them. The traffic cone and barricade are also able to be worn as masks in either the Mask Shop or its Deluxe variant.
It should be noted that in some rare cases traffic cones and barricades serve as decoration instead of marking planned connections.
Variations
Construction Signs
The regular construction sign is a yellow rhombus with a small black silhouette of a construction worker on it, held by a metallic gray rod. However, not all signs look like this, some authors create unique variations of the signs for their own worlds. Below are some of those variants.
A variant which can be found in shigurin's worlds.
The type used in Monochrome GB World.
A rare variant, used in Data Stream.
Found in NES Glitch Tunnel
A variant from Kong's worlds.
A variant from Mokaccino's worlds.
Found in Blob Desert
Red variant found in Primary Estate
Teal variant found in Primary Estate
Barricades
The common barricade used in the game is short and rectangular with black and yellow stripes.
Traffic Cones
The regular traffic cone is orange with a white stripe. Like the construction sign, it has several variations:
Traffic cones found most prominently in wataru's worlds.
The cones used in the Cyber Bar.
Found in NES Glitch Tunnel
A variant from Kong's worlds.
A variant from Mokaccino's worlds.
Red Construction Signs
These construction signs/barricades bear a distinctive design denoting that the passage is open for cross-author connections. Permission must be granted by the original location author in most cases.
Yellow variant of the open cross-author connection sign found in Primary Estate
Blue Construction Signs
These construction signs/barricades indicate that a cross-author connection has been reserved by an author.
