The Gemstone Cave is an area accessible from a ladder in Coral Shoal.

Annotated map of Gemstone Cave.

Features

Gemstone Cave is a large cavern lined with several deposits of gemstones throughout. The area initially starts as a dark, windy passage, inhabited by bats and spiders.

At one point, you'll see an opening in the cave closed with wooden tables, which can be broken with the Chainsaw. At the end of the passage, there is a wiggling, colourful worm creature that will play glitchy sounds when interacted with. If it is chainsawed, it will turn green and stop moving. While walking away from it, the worm will rapidly catch up with you, and flash the screen with a creepier version of itself in a jumpscare-like manner. After getting jumpscared, the opening will now be barricaded.

If you keep going down, the cave will eventually open up into a much larger section with a reflective floor and a plethora of gemstones. At the bottom of this room is an opening which when approached, will cause the scenery to slowly pulse with a yellowish tinge. This opening leads to Sunset Savannah.

Trivia

  • The worm creature bears resemblance to the color-changing wiggly worm NPCs in Yume Nikki's Neon World.
  • This map has been completely revamped as of version 0.123e patch 2, however, the old map is still present in the map file, but it's not accessible anymore. The author has made very clear that he despised the old look, and hid a small message next to the unused map alongside a text that says "UGLY ->", as a clear sign of regret.
